Iced Cafe con Leche -- with coffee iced cubes. Need I say more? You have to respect a place that freezes coffee and puts it back in your iced coffee. That is dedication. We stopped here for a morning coffee and it absolutely lived up to the hype. My wife had the mocha iced coffee and said it was one of the best she has ever had. This location is near the harbor in Key West. There was a steady stream of locals and tourists in line. I think we saw 3 or 4 tourist trams roll by when we waited in line too. There is a great mural on the side of the building -- basically a brightly colored Key West postcard that makes for a good photo opportunity too.

Great spot, worth the wait! came here on Sunday morning for an iced coffee (with coffee Ice Cubes) and an egg sandwich.

The Cuban Coffee Queen is more than what it is named for. We came here to get a sammie after one of the locals told us that they had the best Cuban Sammies in Key West. The are located away from away from that tourist trap of Duval Street. But, that doesn't stop both the locals and tourist from coming here to get their coffees and sandwiches. Who doesn't love a place like this where everything on the menu is under $7 or less. We arrived at a little before noon, after getting lost and not being able to find their shop. We weren't hungry after eating a grouper sandwich from B O's Fish Wagon. But, my wife and I wanted to try the Cuban Mix Sandwich. I ordered the sandwich, paid my $7 and waited for them to prepare the sandwich for me. After they finished it, they called me by my name and presented me my sandwich. The sandwich was made on a Cuban roll. It was filled with pork, ham, and cheese. It was a hefty sandwich filled with a carnitas like pork. My wife commented that it was one of the best sandwiches that she had ever had. As a guy that eats I lot of sandwiches, I would have to agree. The sandwich came with a bag of Plantain Chips and a Dum Dum pop. The Plantain Chips are something that I have never had before. They were great! Unfortunately, I did not try anything else. But, most of the other customers ordered their coffees as well. The Cuban Coffee Queen is a great little Cuban place in Key West. If you want lots of good food for a little $$$, you need to come here. They definitely have one of the best sandwiches around.

Finally decided to write a review, two days ago I bought a Jose Marti sandwich and a cafe con leche, fantastic! I've been here a hand full of times and never been disappointed. The hangover helper smoothie is great with or without a headache.

Thanks to yelp we were able to find this little gem while we were on vacation in the Keys. We were searching for a quick breakfast place with some yummy coffee - And this was exactly what we wanted. So much so we went back the next day for more coffee and tea. For breakfast I had the Key wester with ham and it was delicious! I also had the Chai, as I test out Chai's everywhere I go (On the hunt for the best Chai, and I love to try all different Chai options. Possibly slightly Chai obsessed). The chai was pretty darn tasty too, coming from a Chai-snob like myself that is saying something. My husband had the coffee con Leche and he liked it very much. He also had the classic cuban and he was in heaven (We lack good Cubans back home). Great find, great food, great drinks, reasonable prices.

This place is incredible and I'm so sad I can't take it back with me to NYC. Iced con leche (with coffee iced cubes may I add) was SO GOOD. And my toasted cuban bread with butter? Best toast of my life.

How fantastic was this find??? I was craving a cold drink and decided to get smoothies for myself and my husband. They were fresh and the perfect consistency. A little pricey but worth it. Service was awesome. Everyone was so friendly. Can't speak on the food but it smelled AMAZING and was put out quickly. Definitely a hidden gem you must try!!!

I've never had a baby. I have no intentions of having a baby. Though, I imagine the excitement of holding your bundle of joy is akin to cradling a Cuban Queen Mix sandwich. At the very least, the weight has to be close to that of most newborns. The apple of my eye arrived in mid-March and was easily in the 90th percentile for length. Cuban Coffee Queen delivers and we ordered a bunch of food and iced beverages from them while getting ready for the day. I was absolutely taken aback by the behemoth of a Cuban sandwich that sat on my TV tray and delighted that it was served with a side snack pack of banana chips. I will say that I was disappointed with the Chai Tea Latte. It seemed very watered down and didn't have much flavor. I wouldn't order that again and don't even have to worry about it as an option because I literally got the last one. They took it off the menu. I can see why. The Iced Con Soya, on the other hand, was splendid!

My review is based solely on the coffee service. In short, it is spectacular. I have been spoiled with great coffee service from time to time, and the Cuban Coffee Queen's coffee is up there with some of the most uppity cafes I have ever tried, yet priced at half the cost. My boyfriend ordered the ice coffee and I ordered the cortadito. Both beverages were exceptional and we enjoyed them quite a bit. If in Key West, this place is a "must" in the list. I only hope to find coffee this good near where I live.

The reviews do NOT lie about this place. Wonderful coffee, if you do not like strong Cuban coffee then you should get something on the lighter/sweeter side. I loved the fact that the ice cubes in their iced cafe con leche were coffee ice cubes!! When you walk up to the window to order the delicious smell of the roast pork that cooks all day immediately hits you, and it is SO inviting. The Cuban mix is wonderful and for $7.00 you can't beat it! The menu was larger than I expected from looking at the building (which looks like a beach shack). From sitting on the bench and eating my sandwich I observed that it is not just tourists that frequent this place, there are many locals as well which is always a good sign! My boyfriend and I were here for 4 days and made 3 stops at the Cuban coffee queen!!!

Absolutely the best place for food we've had our week in Key West! Had the Cuban mix sandwich. Nothing else we had compared and totally want to go back. We're totally going back before we leave. Laid back atmosphere. Great photo spot too!

#1 cuban coffee in key west! Big enough Sandwhiches for two!! I love this small cafe!

I'm very different from my friends when it comes to coffee. I am NO coffee connoisseur NOR am I even close to being a coffee snob. I'm a functional person and I drink just about any brew available as long as it is HOT - pipin' HOT. On the other hand, this functionality has actually caused me to drink significantly MORE (in volume) than both connoisseur (aka spitters) and snobs (aka ERMAGERD-long-litany-of-fancy-pansy-in-a-cup)...that was the case at least UNTIL now: I *only* had ONE cup and it sufficed. Gone were the days of 500 cups...here, one freaking small cup changed me forever. Where has thou been all my life? Strong, flavorful, and cheap. How much better can it be? Stop by, have a Cortadito, and make life a bit more awesome.

This vacation I went in search for spots off the beaten Duval Street path. Being from South Florida and spoiled with amazing Cuban food, my husband and I are always searching for the next best place. I like to go where the locals go, so in reading Yelp reviews, I came across Cuban Coffee Queen. Everyone raved about the cuban coffee (go figure) so we had to give it a try. Nestled on the corner along the marina, it's a little walk up with all your favoritos cubanos. Since it was stifling hot, my husband and I both got the iced cafe con leche and of course pressed Cuban sandwiches. The coffee came first and all I can say is, muy delicioso. We both said it was definitely the best cuban coffee we've ever had. A bit later came and the sandwiches and they were definitely worth the wait. Wow! First of all they were huge! After only being able to both finish one half of ours, we said next time (because there will definitely be a next time) we will just get one and split it. The sandwich was full of fresh meat, both pork and ham, and had the perfect amount of condiments and fresh veggies. They also came with a side of dried plantain chips that were really good as well. They weren't overly salty and a great addition to the sandwich when eaten together. I owe it to ya Yelpers, you definitely know a good local gem when you find one and that is Cuban Coffee Queen.

This is my fourth time in Key West and I had never been here. I've been there 3 times this week. So good and affordable. The Cafe con Leche is to die for!

It hurts me to write this review, but something needs to change. To say that I visit CCQ a lot would be an understatement. I have enough dum dum pops from this place to get me through the next Halloween. Unfortunately, this past Sunday was most likely my last visit. With each visit, the service gets worse. After an absolutely horrendous experience in the downtown location, I came back to the original to only get equally bad service. This past Sunday, my husband and I came by to get some food and a coffee. There was one man in front of us waiting for an order (he had waited close to 30 min for 3 sandwiches) and maybe 3 people who came after us. There were three people working at the time. Coffee took 10 minutes. Why does it take 10 min to pour an iced coffee when there is no line? The food (a grilled cheese and a rice and bean plate) took 30 minutes!!!! On what planet does a grilled cheese take 30 minutes to make? Worst part is, 10 minutes of our wait was due to the fact that the food was ready and sitting on the counter inside and not one of the three people working bothered to call out our name. Our food just sat there for no reason and we waited for 10 extra minutes for no reason. I would be embarrassed of my business if it were run in this manner. If I treated my job with this amount of disinterest, I wouldn't have a job. Get your sh*t together, CCQ.

Simple and efficient breakfast spot that's open early. We tried the chorizo breakfast sandwich, and some cafe con Leche. Super hot cafe, good tasting sandwich.

Got a coffee with coffee ice cubes - cool! Why can't every coffee shop do this? Can't speak for anything else on the menu.

Place is great. Sunrise special half key wester with cafe con leche is not only a bargain but a perfect Breakfast. A lot of locals hit this place.

They closed 5 minutes prior to me getting there, but the employees still hooked us up and made us some delicious coffees! Fantastic experience!

  • Matthew B.

When your in the mood for a good Cuban sandwich or a traditionally Cuban coffee this Is your place . The employees are upbeat and they have great system that gets what you want when you want. The location is pretty good and they have tree that shades you, in case you want to sit and eat while you enjoy the bustling key west unwind. Many places usual fall out after providing good service after five or so years. This place is ONE of THE places you should go to taste what locals eat on the reg.

  • Charmie P.

Amazing smoothies, and even better Cuban sandwiches - They seriously are delicious, everything is fresh and made to order. It is a small kiosk, you order at the counter or call and request delivery. The workers are super friendly and the food is consistently good. They serve breakfast lunch and early dinner, even the rice and beans are good.

    (5)
  • Amber H.

For what it is, Cuban Coffee Queen rocks!!! Their coffee is the BEST: super strong and perfect! I also enjoy their Cuban sandwiches. The cafe con leche is my morning addiction, Superb!!!!

  • Funk L.

The only way to get over the closing of a good place to eat is to have a great restaurant open a second location in its place. Cuban Coffee Queen has great food and delivers from Old Town. The Amoroso bread is delicious and all of the pressed sandwiches were crispy on the outside, soft on the inside and NOT GREASY! Havana Beans and Rice was a delicious choice too. The only bad thing about this place is knowing breakfast delivery exists, but it's not where I usually live.

    (5)
  • Jeremy T.

Do not miss this place (or shack) in the bight area to come for a cup of joe, cuban coffee, or fresh coconut juice in the morning. I ordered the chocolate mocha coffee and it was delicious.

    (5)
  • Frank T.

I think about this place probably once a week. The breakfast sandwiches are amazing as well as the iced coffee. The sandwiches are plenty big and filling. The coffee will have you bouncing off of the walls for hours.

    (5)
  • Nicole S.

Eat your sandwich with a chicken at your feet!! Okay, I just love stuff like that, but maybe you don't but it totally cracked me up that there were some chickens hanging around this food stand. They have a variety of sandwiches, salads, sides, and drinks so you have plenty of options for breakfast and lunch. We went at lunch and each enjoyed a sandwich (about $7) with chips. The best is if you go with someone so you guys can share because we each loved what we ordered and what the other person ordered too. Perfect since the sandwiches are cut in half!

  • Brooke F.

The Keywester. No further explanation necessary. Get it with chorizo, and you will regret nothing. The yelp reviews are right, you can't go wrong with their coffee. We went the iced route, and it was strong, smooth, and delicious.

  • Emily V.

Awesome little spot for coffee and food! It's so cute, definitely check out the gorgeous mural on the side of the building. The cafe con leche is hot and strong and delicious. The cuban wasn't my favorite that I've ever had but the price was good and I liked the addition of bacon on it. Definitely a solid spot for cheap eats in pricy Key West.

  • Preeti P.

Small shack, completely touristy, pleasant quick service and great coffee! The coffee ice cubes are unique and an example of brilliant yet simple innovation. Got here after a full day of walking around the island in scorching heat, got the mocha flavored ice coffee, and it was gone in 60 seconds! Touristy or not, try it!

  • Michelle R.

This is not a sit down restaurant. In fact you kind of have to sit wherever you find a place, which to me was odd because they offer plates of food. That being said, we came here both mornings and got the breakfast sandwich on Cuban toast and café con leche. It was delicious and there is a very cool vibe from this place.

This place provides the best money for your dollar for breakfast. Fast service and amazing coffee.

  • Sherry B.

This is the place to go for a great cup of coffee. Everyone in our group was amazed by the coffee. I ordered the "Key Wester" with sausage. The sandwich was big enough for two. The sandwich was one of the best I have had in a long time. We also placed an order for delivery to our hotel and the coffee was delivered in great condition. Not only was the one coffee still hot but the two iced coffees were still intact with ice. The staff was also very friendly!

  • Sophack S.

Iced Cafe con Leche. Grabbed several just for myself and definitely great in the muggy and humid air. Definite regulars spot for the locals too for their morning coffee. Great spot overall. The only unfortunate thing on this occasion was that they didn't have an items that was on their menu. This was the Indian Chai Tea, which was why I venture to this location. Fortunately though, this notion brought me to that delicious Iced Cafe con Leche. If I'm back in the Keys then I wouldn't mind coming back here.

Yes, Marius, this was my first time! Hope to be back! (Have other places on my bucket list. But I'm still young!)

Stopped by Cuban coffee queen on the last day of our trip-big mistake! It was sooooooooooo good! If I could give it 10 stars I would. I had a caliente Cuban which was to die for. Best sandwich I've ever had.Ever. My boyfriend got the ham and cheese with chorizo which was also excellent with a Cuban coffee. So upset I didn't find this place sooner! Definitely a must if you are in Key West.

    (5)
  • Garrik K.

This place is sketchy. From a distance you can hear the establishment's Cuban music beaconing. As you near the window, there's a disgusting clash between the Cuban music and the techno music the staff was blaring from inside. I looked around, no one inside to take my order. I did a 360 and see sitting behind me on an outdoor bench the employees just sitting and smoking. These guys look like drug addicts. You would not want to eat or drink anything these guys serve. Maybe I came on a bad day. Maybe the locals like this place. But be advised, this isn't a pleasant spot. Yelp let me down this time around.

  • Jeremia F.

Excellent Service and very tasty coffee and sammiches. Highly recommend it if you have the opportunity this is a quick and cheap breakfast.

    (5)
  • Lynn M.

Best cafe con leche during our visit. My only complaint is that there was not enough chorizo on my sandwich. I would have loved a larger piece.

    (5)
  • Amy W.

The coffee is great !! Strong but not bitter. I had the key wester breakfast sandwich pressed on a Cuban roll two days in a row now. Yesterday I had the roasted pork , eggs and cheese, today I had ham. I made the mistake of saying pork instead of roasted pork on one of them and got a pork roll. They gladly gave me a roasted pork one when I realized my mistake. Friendly staff. Got quite a long line on a Sunday morning. Not many benches to sit on but they deliver !!

  • Benslie B.

According to Yelp, a 5-star rating means "Woohoo! As good as it gets!" This would be an accurate summary of the review we'd like to write. We tried three types of their coffee (cortadito, iced café con leche, and a colada) on three separate occasions during our three days in Key West. We had to keep coming back - coffee was strong, intensely flavored, and just sweet enough. Exceeded our expectations for "Cuban jet fuel." Compared to typical "gourmet" coffee prices, our drinks were a deal and well, well worth the cost for the quality. We also got a sandwich on our final visit, and the pork in the Cuban Mix sandwich was very, very flavorful - great place to stop for a quick meal as well as a caffeine fix! Couldn't recommend stopping by more next time you're in KW - we definitely will!

    (5)
  • Colt T.

Best Cuban coffee and breakfast sandwiches on the island. The place is well priced and has plenty of spots to sit outside to enjoy the food.

    (5)
  • Sarvesh M.

Great Caliente cuban and iced coffee with coffee ice cubes. Did not accept yelp checkin deal, yelp's fault so still 5 stars.

    (5)
  • Brian M.

It's just a lil shack just off the marina run by white people. But it's the best cafecito I've had in either KW (where other options are very limited) or Miami proper. Perfect pick me up to stop by as you're walking around. 75 cents a pop, too.

    (5)
  • Kristin K.

Decent prices, a good-looking happy hour, and lots of coffee varieties. It's off the main drag with outdoor seating. The only bummer was that I ordered iced coffee and it wasn't iced at all

    (3)
  • Katie R.

Thanks to the good folks at Sebago, we walked over here before our morning snorkel for a quick breakfast. The shack is super cute with a great mural on the wall. The place was busy with tourists and locals alike (a great sign)! They offer a fairly large variety of breakfast sandwiches (many Cuban twists), smoothies, and cafe drinks, plus regular waters and sodas. Hubs and I both got the Key Wester sandwich (wow, we should have split one - these babies are LARGE) - they come on Cuban bread and are very yummy and filling. We washed it down with a Re-hydrator smoothie and bottled water. The coffees and cafe drinks smelt delicious (I'm pregnant and limiting caffeine, hubs doesn't do coffee). Like I mentioned, lots of locals there too and I can tell why. Prices are reasonable - we spent $20 flat and could have gotten out for less had we known how much food was being given out (the sandwich also comes with a bag of plantain chips and a dum dum lollipop -cute). There's also a souvenir shop next door to browse as you wait, or there are some benches to take a seat.

    (5)
  • Tina D.

I got the veggie burger, so it's probably not their speciality. It was just ok. I also got the mango smoothie and that was just ok. The juices they used didn't seem fresh. Probably weren't. It was fine, though. Quick enough.

  • Princie B.

For the first time Yelp reviews have let me down. This review is strictly for the atmosphere and the staff as my husband and I decided not to eat here. As we were walking towards the cafe, we could here the Cuban music and we got excited since it kind of sets the mood "Yes...we're about to have some awesome cuban snacks". As soon as we got to the window, we are shocked at the blasting techno/rave music...I mean come-on, decide which music you want to play!! We start looking at the menu and made a decision on what we want, however we were totally ignored by the 2 employees who were sitting outside. I guess they decided it's time for both of them to take a cigarette break while customers are waiting to spend their money. I hope the owner can shake things up and hire some responsible ppl if he wants to keep the good reviews.

  • Nam K.

We went there for coffee 2 days when we were in Key West. The coffee was good. The sandwiches were awesome. We ordered the Cuban Queen Mix. It was delicious. It took a while for the sandwich, but it was worth the wait. My wife and I shared the sandwich and it was just enough. Highly recommended. Give it a try. If you don't like it, well.... you can't beat a meal for 2 for less than 7 dollars.

I love you Cuban Coffee Queen! Every thing here is amazing!

  • Lindsay A.

I know this place is really popular and my friend raved about it, but I was slightly disappointed. I stopped here for breakfast before heading back to Miami, so I ordered a coffee and something for breakfast. I had the cheese toast with ham added to it. I hate to say it but I was disappointed. The bread was good but the sandwich just was on the blah side. Even though I added ham to it, this literally did not add much to the sandwich. I like cheese toast is the thing and I understand it's not the most exciting thing, but I thought the cheese was flavorless. I wish I had actually tried something else since this just put a damper on the experience. Now the coffee was pretty good and not bitter at all. I'm happy I ordered the coffee since it was bold and flavorful.

  • Dan S.

Pro tips: 1.) If you're looking for a quick bite call your order in ahead of time. 2.) Key West Sandwich w/ ham is a winner. Big enough to split. 3.) Website says $.25 off coffee if you bring your own mug. 4.) Yelp check in offer: $5 Havana Rice & Beans w/soda. Overall great spot for breakfast/brunch/lunch. A few benches to wait & eat but it's limited.

    (4)
  • Addie G.

Iced Cuban Coffee with coffee ice cubes is pretty amazing! Also the smoothies & the Cuban toast. They also have a couple of vegetarian dishes; which a lot of restaurants are in lack of .

    (5)
  • Ravi D.

The smoothie I tried was not good. I have had better. I did not like that they do not have almond milk or organic soy milk. They did not have protein powder either. Also not a choice to select your own fruit.

  • Jennifer L.

Finally got to try this place. The coffee is on point and to no surprise the employees are very knowledgable about their product and provide excellent customer service. Having no idea how to order to suit my liking, we gave a general description of how we like our coffee and it was perfectly made to order. The coffee ice cubes rocked my world!

Best cafe con leche in the Keys! The breakfast sandwiches are worth getting up early for. Sometimes the wait can be a little long... But more than worth it!!

Cafe con leche!! Mainlander sandwich !! The ideal pre scuba breakfast. Great vibe and patient friendly service. Walk up starting at 7:30 am listen to salsa music, absorb coffee.

Read the reviews on YELP and stopped by on first morning of our vacation in Key West. Had the breakfast special - half sandwich with sausage and Cafe Con Leche "sweet". Fantastic!!! My hubby got the Key West Sandwich with bacon and an OJ and he was a happy camper as well. I recommend a stop here - we will be back! Thanks Yelpers!

Great dive Cuban food and coffee. Walk up to window to order and eat outside on picnic tables. Good place to go for Cuban coffee in the am. They r the real deal. They also have a small selection of forgotten items for ur trip. The hotel was overpriced (3.50)on a coke from the deli... And here it was a normal price.

    (3)
  • Jaclyn P.

Best smoothies on the island! The veggie hummus Cuban was pretty good, and any other Cuban is awesome. Very tasty and definitely worth the wait.

Really good coffee and a nice sandwich. Had the egg and cheese breakfast sandwich which was really good. Service was good also.

    (4)
  • Sabrina B.

I didn't actually purchase anything from here. I only came by to take pictures in front of their gorgeous mural. The place was crowded when we dropped by for photos and nobody really minded us being in the way snapping pictures.

  • Kashyap R.

Being a veggie, for me, this was a very suited place. Tried Veggie Hummus Sandwich with Cuban bread, Cuban Caramel Mocha, Cuban Chocolate Mocha. The sandwich was very tasty and quite filling for lunch. I liked the Cuban Chocolate mocha a lot!! I definitely recommend this place to anybody! 5 stars straight to me!

    (5)
  • Jennifer P.

A bit of a wait for a late morning breakfast, but so worth it! Very generous sized breakfast sandwiches filled us up, and the iced Cuban coffee energized us for our walking tour of the town.

  • Carrie F.

Queen's is a cute little outdoor Cuban coffee/sandwich place. I got an iced coffee and the Keywester (sandwich). The Keywester is a delicious breakfast sandwich of egg, cheese and your choice of meat, including Cuban chorizo. I went with the bacon and it was fantastic. The coffee was good, and very strong as it should be. However, I take my coffee black (I cannot have milk or sugar) so if you're like me beware, Cuban coffee is traditionally served with sugar and/or syrup. So - I suggest going, very cool vibe, but if you want BLACK coffee make sure you articulate that very clearly! Otherwise enjoy!

    (4)
  • Kaitlin R.

Great authentic restaurant in the heart of Key West! They make their iced coffee with coffee ice cubes so the humidity doesn't water down your drink. We had a chorizo breakfast sandwich, the mainlander with pork roll and a Cuban bagel. The Cuban bagel is something new to try. It is like an everything bagel with cream cheese and something sweet on top.

    (5)
  • McKenna S.

Very great Cuban sandwiches! Loved the atmosphere of the area and the food was more than enough to fill me up! Loved the roosters and chicks that would walk around and peck at food I dropped. Stereotypical Key West! Highly recommend trying this place out!

  • Grace C.

This little shack will surprise you. Surrounded by tourist spots offering seafood... You can come here for a hearty sandwich that is guaranteed to satisfy the palette! The mojo pork in my sandwich was very flavorful. The right amount of cheese, mayo mustard and ham that's the cuban mix. The breakfast local was good, I must say the chorizo made the sandwich an experience everyone should try. The cortadito is very overpriced for me being from Miami but this liquid gold is hard to come by in this area which is odd being so close to Cuba and all. Overall I really liked it. Super friendly folks, nice feel and quick in my opinion.

Walked by this place many times and had to try it before leaving key west. Had a breakfast sandwich and a Cuban coffee. Absolutely excellent. I wish I could have had come a couple more times here. Great place.

  • Jacob C.

This place is a tiny little hole in the wall, but it was the perfect food for the end of a long day walking the island. We got 3 bags of plantain chips, a Cuban mix sandwhich, Cuban queen mix sandwich and a regular ham and cheese for $20.00......and it was good too. We'll be going back tomorrow morning for the coffee and might stop by again for another sandwhich. Good food for cheap, different taste, big portions--can't beat it!

Would come here all the time after a long boat ride with my hubby and my frenchie! Loved the breakfast! I miss it! I miss Key West!

Venue: Cuban Coffee Queen Decor: Food Stand Service: Friendly, Upbeat, Cheerful Environment: Touristy Food: Bagels, Sandwiches, Salads, Burgers Prices: Very Fair! Huge Pros: Fresh food, Great Coffee, Very Popular & favorable, Location (near the water) Debbie Downers: Couldn't bring this back home with me Conclusion: This was one of the highlight gems that I came across during my time in Key West. This was definitely one of my favorite venues. I don't want to put a hype onto something simple but I swear that Cuban bagel that I had was the best bagel that I ever had. It was so good. Plus the Cuban coffee was so on point! Overall: A++++++++ There is a reason why people love this great but simple food stand. The service, the food, the location, you can't beat it.

Best coffee ever! Coffee con leche-iced, do it! Cuban Caliente-spicy and very, very good! Great photo op in front of mural, we went here 3x during our trip, wish we could bring them home with us!

A favorite stop for breakfast. I enjoy their smoothies and breakfast sandwiches that all go well with some Cuban coffee.

Best deal for a great coffee and breakfast - the Key Wester! Their cuban's are one of my favorites on the island.

If you are famous for a specific coffee, and I order a coffee, I want the standard order of coffee... If I wanted an iced coffee, I would have said iced coffee; if I wanted a mocha, I would have said mocha; etc. Coffee means coffee. You don't have to be a jerk about taking my order. I had to explain this, and you understood and redeemed yourself (or just wanted to be done with me). Coffee could have been hotter, but was good overall. You are extremely busy here, you don't need to waste everyone's time by arguing with me. Cafe is cafe. I almost gave one star because of the interaction alone, but that would not reflect well on the quality of your coffee and food.

This place brought out the caffeine junkie in me. I came with the idea to just have a cafe con leche but I had the chance to look at their menu before ordering and changed my mind. The first thing that caught my attention was the "Cuban Vanilla Coffee" and, while ordering that, I read the magic word "Colada". Now, it's already 4pm, and while I was a little concerned about the effect the coffee would have this late In the day, I didn't care, I ordered both. My friends were making fun of me when they saw me with both cups and fully intending to have them both immediately. I started with the colada and I just smiled. This is something I don't usually find where I live so, whenever I see it, I have to order it. This was made perfectly. Strong and sweet. It's addictive, and no, I don't share it. I have no idea why they usually give you those little plastic shot glasses, I don't need them I'll drink it all. Once I finished the colada I immediately went to my vanilla coffee. This one was just OK. I was expecting a little bit more vanilla flavor and body to it, but not bad. Needless to say I was up until almost 4am that night but absolutely no regrets, I would do it again.

We came down for Labor Day weekend and stopped here to try it out after reading all the hype on yelp. The first day we got the Cuban bagel and the Cuban coffee. The coffee was great and the Cuban bagel was good but not like I pictured,It was honey glazed with seeds on top of the bagel. I should have asked. We came back a second day for the iced coffee and it was perfect for the hot day we were having. If your looking to get a good Cuban coffee, I highly recommend this place. Not really close to the main strip but close enough to get there to try it out.

I just realized that I haven't reviewed this place yet. Really? Omg. I've had Cuban Sandwiches everywhere- U.S. South America, etc. This place blew me away out of all those places. Coffee was decent, but it was the sandwich that blew me away. OMG soooo delicious!

The combo of a half sandwich and a cuban coffee is the best way to start off your day!! I had the Chorizo sandwich and although it was very good, my wife's pork sandwich was amazing!

By far the best Cuban sandwich I have ever had ! This place is a tiny food truck- like stall. There are a few benches right outside with a parking lot and a small gift shack on its either sides. The guys were very sweet and friendly. We ordered the Shipwreck Sandwich and were blown away. So many flavours exploding in your mouth. It was the best meal of the day!! Definitely recommend this place

My issue in life has always been service first and quality will follow. Here they not only have service perfected but also one heck of a cup of joe. They have the bean roasting and dipping down to such a science that Johns Hopkins Medical School would be jealous. Next the food has a great variety of favors and assortments that everyone in your party will find something. To ends... They should have six stars.

Cute little stand right in front of the harbor, the guy who helped us was SOOO nice and our coffees came out quickly. We ordered two iced Café Con Leches (I got mine with soy milk which was I was happy to see as an option with Cuban coffee). The iced coffee comes with espresso ice cubes! Genuis. My sister wasn't impressed with hers, but I loved it and would definitely return. The breakfast looked and smelled delicious (to-go type options like breakfast paninis and such), but we already had breakfast plans so I didn't get to try it. I'll be back for sure. I'm obsessssssedddd with Cafe Con Leche and they did not disappoint.

This is one of those places that is smack tab in tourist-be-screwed alley yet. . .is an exceptional experience for tourists (and I think locals) alike. We never took Cuban Queen up on their delivery, though we did see their scooter zipping around a couple times. Yet we did order and eat their awesome breakfast, coffee, and sandwiches. Big fans. I would put Cuban Coffee Queen as a great experience and quick/easy access (thanks to the city parking lot next to the restaurant). The Cuban coffee was fantastic. . .and the breakfast sandwiches hit the spot before a day of Key West Fun. Order a Cuban coffee and think of me, in Denver, without a Cuban restaurant for miles. . . *sigh

  • Lynda D.

Stopped by in the AM for breakfast, delicious sandwiches and even better iced coffee-all at reasonable prices. I can easily say I've never had a better iced coffee in my life. They even use ice cubes made out of coffee so your drink won't get watered down-love that! Too bad we didn't discover this place earlier in our trip! Will definitely visit again if we ourselves in KW again in the near future.

I popped in for breakfast. I woke up after a night of being sick (yay Key West flu!) and walked here straightaway, pretty early. Not much of a line, but I watched the tourists flock (you know, the middle-agers all wearing a local key west t-shirt). Regardless, it doesn't matter - I saw their delivery scooter all over the place, so it's obvious that the local workers love it, too. Got the... Sunshine Sandwich and their coffee - it was *great* coffee, and I ordered some beans and rice for the walk around the pier. It's good food - it's an easy stop in the morning. Grab a cup of coffee, and walk around the pier.

Great cafe con leche iced! Has a great depth to the flavor that most coffees lack. You can really taste the coffee grinds bitter accent seeping through. Also their banana smoothie is very good and good for you! Also love the name.

  • Deborah C.

I was too scared to try the cortadito! But I had the iced vanilla coffee (good) and the egg and cheese sandwich (amazing) comes with plantain chips and a lollipop. Huge sandwich and so cheap! My boyfriend and I went about 3 times during our stay in Key West. The only negative was the staff. They aren't the MOST patient. Understandable only because they're super busy. The wait was kind of long for simple sandwiches but most definitely worth it! Hang out with the island dogs and roosters while you wait.

I hope to find a place like this nearby Ft. Lauderdale. Their cafe con leche is one of the bests that I've had here in Florida even though it was freaking hot to drink hot coffee outside. I got the special which was 1/2 a sandwich (I don't remember the name of it), which consisted of shredded pork, egg, tomato, and I believe cheese for only $4.25. The sandwich was huge for being a 1/2 size & coffee was also an excellent size. My boyfriend got one of the cuban mix sandwiches which he enjoyed, and a mango smoothie which was really good and refreshing in the heat. They only have benches to sit on and no tables to eat so we walked to the right of it on the harbor and sat alongside the water near Dantes pool bar. They also deliver on mopeds, awesome! Service was friendly.

Quaint Key West Cuban Coffee Queen will set you up nicely. Be sure to try the Cuban bagel and vanilla bean coffee. If I lived on the island this place would become part of my routine. Do it. Go.

Nice people but honestly the coffee was lame and the food (pulled pork) was meh and dry. I had high expectations from the writeup in the NYTimes. Or maybe I just came on an off- day. Cuban coffee at Sunrise Market Cafe way back up in Tavernier was 100x better (and much cheaper too).

  • Betsy P.

Woohoo! Yes, it's as good as it gets. Looking for some real Cuban coffee? Look no further, because this Cuban place has it going on. It's not a sit down restaurant, it's more like a hut. From Cuban sandwiches, Cuban coffee, Cuban buttered bread to dunk your coffee in, smoothies, and so on, and so on. This is the place. It may be small, but they are packed with delicious Caribbean flavor! There is always a line, but they definitely have their rhythm. Service is awesome. What are you waiting for, lezzgo.

  • Marta N.

Only got the Cuban coffee to compare it to Ana's. Meh, not so good. You can see every shot Ana makes in hers she does it right then and there, it tastes like you got hit in the head. Their coffee tasted like a burnt Americano. Not that great, Haven't tried the food yet, so I can't review.

I've been coming to key west regularly for four years now. This is by far the best place to get your morning coffee. Location is great, staff is friendly and helpful, and I love the outdoor only seating. Aside from the coffee being excellent, the food is amazing as well. I will be back before this trip is over and I will definitely come back next time I am in key west.

The Cuban Queen Mix is the stuff dreams are made of. Generous portions of meat and yummy toppings pair nicely with the ciabatta-ish Cuban bread. This $7 sandwich is a monster so save half for later or split it with someone you love. PS, the service is super-friendly (not something to take for granted when you live in a resort town).

Great Cuban sandwiches with a lot of other choices if you do not want a traditional Cuban sandwich. Extremely large portions and you will not leave hungry.

Best Cuban Sandwiches on Earth period! The iced coffee was really good too and strong. 2 sandwiches can feed 4 people that's how huge they are. I spent $16 with the ice cofee. No other better deal in town. Two thumbs up! Way up! I will definitely go back and recommend over and over again. Thank you for the experience guys. :)

This place has impeccable Cuban coffee offered in many variations. Great for a quick modern and more healthy lunch. Small menu increases frechness of ingredients. All food served with love and passion. A must visit during your stay in Key West.

To a tourist out of town like myself, this little shack is actually hard to spot; since I have already put that on top of my to-do list Saturday morning, I was not going to let a little getting lost deter me from getting my caffeine fix. After a while mopping on the moped (yes I came up with that all by myself!) I finally found someone walking away from the shack with a very good looking ice cafe (con leche) in hand. Thank you stranger. You don't know how you have saved the next stranger I meet if I have to continuously go without my coffee. I got an iced cafe con leche as well, which is really more like a French cafe latte than a cafe au lait (au lait means "with milk" as well.) The drink went straight down, and I got another before I rode away. There are some pretty tasty looking food items on the menu, and I can see through the ordering window there are a few sandwich presses sitting in the back. Perhaps I will get a Cuban torta next time I'm around.

Are you kidding me? May be the best coffee I've ever had. Coffee ice cubes in my iced coffee con leche- genius! Will be here every day I'm in Key West.

The Cuban Mix is one of the best sandwhiches I ever ate and it was only $6.75. If you are in Key West you must check this place out. I'm really going to miss this place when I head back to California.

Our favorite in Key West! The real deal. Coffee is great, and food is tasty with good size sandwiches. Many couples could split one sandwich if they are not starving.

I've been to Key West on two separate trips now. I read about Cuban Coffee Queen on the first trip and I was sad I didn't go sooner! On the first trip, I only ordered coffee and the Key Wester (eggs, cheese, and choice of meat on Cuban bread). It was so good, I stuck to what I knew. The coffee is ALWAYS good- hot, iced, cafe con leche, Americans, you name it. I NEVER put sugar in my coffee at home, but - trust me- adding sugar to a cafe con leche takes it to another level. SOOOOOO TASTY. They aren't too busy early morning, but I found the crowd picks up mid morning. Yes, there can be a bit of a wait, but what do I care about a 15 minute wait for breakfast or lunch? I'm on vacation and this isn't Starbucks. This last trip, we tried sandwiches for lunch on more than one occasion. I recommend the traditional Cuban, the hot beef (horseradish!!), and the chicken salad. Also, you just can't go wrong with cheesy toast with tomato. There's something for meat eaters and vegetarians. They have breakfast and lunch sandwiches, smoothies, salads, soda, and coffee. It's reasonably priced. My husband and I could each get a sandwich (they are huge and come with plantain chips) and a large coffee for approx $17. The service is friendly and speedy, both impressive feats considering how packed this place gets. Bonus: they deliver for no addition charge! This is especially awesome for the mornings you just can't bring yourself to leave the pool. Highly recommended! Good eats for a good price. Check out the Coffee Queen.

Cafe con leche is awesome, whether hot or cold, and best with the key wester. They even deliver! A true find on key west!

When I arrive to Key West, this is the first place I go to. I've been coming to Key West several times a year for going on 13 years. In having been all over the island several times over, I can honestly say there is no better coffee, especially cuban coffee, than Cuban Coffee Queen. Beyond just coffee, they also have in my opinion the best breakfast deal on the island - half a Key Wester sandwich (ask for Pork!!!) and a con leche for a very reasonable price. Their Cuban Sandwiches can't be beat,, and the plantain chips are delicious. The staff is always friendly and lightning fast. If you don't feel like making it down to them, they also deliver rather quickly (and without spilling a drop of the precious coffee either!). I can also vouch for the fact that this isn't just a tourist trap; locals love this stuff too! As far as coffee, if you're sensitive to caffeine, I'd advise against the colada (my normal order) or cortadito and stick with a Con Leche or Bucci (small straight shot). They also have tasty smoothies and iced coffee for people who need something to cool off. For those not in the know on cuban coffee, while it is small, the taste is strong and sweet but not bitter. I know several people that aren't a fan of traditional espresso and can't stand black coffee but love straight cuban coffee. If you're also looking for a bit of a sweet treat, I'd recommend getting some buttered cuban bread to dip into the coffee as well, for an extra cheap but delicious snack. If you like coffee, need a pick me up after the duval crawl, or just want to see what all the buzz is about, this is the place to go. See you there soon!

  • Tracey W.

Excellent coffee and fantastic food! I would definitely recommend it and go there again myself. That being said, I do feel that the staff leaves something to be desired. They appear to be a little too wrapped up in themselves and not paying attention to the customer. It seems like they have plenty of staff available yet it took almost 20 minutes to get my order; which was i cuban coffee, one iced cuban coffee and two cuban sandwiches. There were also few other customers waiting for their orders. The attitude of some of the staff members also leaves something to be desired. All of that said, the food and coffee is still incredible, and if only for that reason alone I would continue to go there on a regular basis.

  • Janet D.

I am just giving this an a-ok in my book. we had the "key wester" sausage sandwich and a Cuban mix with two iced café con leches. They coffee was bland and the sandwiches were not good. I do not enjoy Cuban bread. Maybe that's why I was so put off. But we only came once and that was one too many times.

    (2)
  • Jennifer R.

We were talking with our waitress at the white tarpon restaurant around the corner on front street. We asked where to get amazing Cubans! She recommended that we go see you guys at the Cuban coffee queen! We certainly weren't let down! :-)

  • Bryan M.

Order a Cortadito or cafe con leche! I was in town for a week and only found this place in the middle of my trip. Once I found it, I came back each and every day! Part of it is the location, part is the rustic appeal but mostly it's just THE COFFEE!!!!

    (4)
  • Damon T.

Awesome....this place is awesome. Its a little shack that has some of the best coffee and unique cubans on the island. We ate here more then any other place on the island. And by the way, they deliver. And double by the way, their CHEEP. Im not usually a fan of mayo and "extras" on my cuban, but I gave them a try and man..they made it work. Great location, friendly staff, amazing food, and affordable. What more do you need? By the way....the roosters will usually finish the crumbs you cant. O, fyi, the hangover smoothies do their job!

My wife and I were staying just a few blocks away on our honeymoon. We were only down in Key West for a couple days, and during that time, I ended up here. Twice. The cortaditos were perfect. The cuban breakfast - perfect. The breakfast sandwiches we got - delicious. My wife would probably say differently (she thought it was a little too bready and dense), but she was excited to go a second time. If we were back in Key West, we'd be back here in no time.

  • Lauren R.

Stopped their twice on our trip just for the coffee! Definitely worth the wait!

  • Kinga W.

Really loved the place. The coffee and the sandwiches were great. So sorry that I don't have anything like that in the area were I live. The food is not the only experience. You can sit on the bench and watch chickens going around :)

    (5)
  • Jojo F.

I make it a priority to consume Cuban Coffee Queen iced con soya, no sugar at least once a week. I had a chicken salad sandwich months ago that I recall being pretty good, but I usually go for the iced cafes. Delivery is quick and friendly as is their walk up counter. Great spot for locals and tourists alike. If you're lucky, you can pick up a magnet at the counter. You can't beat the prices for the quality of the food. If you have a soft spot for strong cafe, mosey on down to Cuban Coffee Queen.

    (5)
  • Jenny C.

Closes at 7 PM!! Spoke to the people in the shop, super nice and willing to deliver coffee and their deliciousness the following day anywhere on the island. They've tried to submit new hours to both yelp and tripadvisor and they haven't been posted. Peace, love, coffee!

My friends and I were looking for a quick place to grab breakfast and Cuban coffee on vacation. We hit the jackpot w/ this place. Food: They have all types of breakfast sandwiches...all on Cuban toast. Their iced coffee even comes w/ ice cubes made of...you guessed it...frozen Cuban coffee. It was $2 for 4 shots of espresso! The main lander breakfast sandwich gives you 3 eggs, bacon or sausage, and cheese for $6.50. My hubby was full after half! Seating: This is sort of like a food truck, so it's all benches outdoors. Take your umbrella if it's raining. Parking: Parking is never abundant in Key West, but this place had plenty of room for any type of vehicle.

Go here for breakfast, the iced coffee and key wester breakfast sandwich are to die for! Great price for what you get also!!!

During my trip to Key West this past Christmas, we found this place. It is right in the touristy area of town, but doesn't feel too touristy, and is located conveniently by a city parking lot. The workers there are really fun and friendly, and the prices are very reasonable. I love ice coffee, and loved their version with Cuban coffee and coffee ice cubes...awesome. Also, we loved their sandwiches...they come with these really unique, crunchy plantain chips. We ended up coming back to Cuban Coffee Queen for a few return visits during our week in Key Week because we loved the place so much. Great atmosphere, food, drinks....definitely recommend!

Pleasant employees. Guys are since and actually excited to be there serving you!!! Cafe con leche. Yum!!! Stays hot for awhile, too. So good. Cortadito yummy too just too strong and too sweet for me. American coffe eh so so. I would skip. But they get 5 stars for the cafe con leche. Didn't eat because family wasn't hungry but it looked so clean and food looked awesome.

After being a Paseo's (of Seattle) regular, this Cuban goes in the sad category of average (lousy) sandwiches. Boo hoo. The bread is horrible and the whole deal is lacking in flavor. I like the place and the friendly people, but the food, so sad.

    (2)
  • Kevin C.

This place is a gem. Great food and coffee that is also inexpensive. This is Key West, if you want fast food McDonald's is down the road; order, relax and just enjoy where you are vice where you are going next.

Iced coffee and key wester sandwich perfect combo. Cuban bread, bacon, eggs, American cheese... Mmmm. Also got mainlander... 3 eggs, sausage, cheese, hoagie roll... Also delicious. Sandwiches came with plantain chips and dum dum suckers!

My wife & I just returned back from KW after our second visit, and this is our go-to place! We have never been to the actual restaurant. Every time we have ordered it to our hotel room & have never been disappointed. The Cuban sandwich is the best that either of us have ever tasted. Although we have tried other items on the menu, we always return back to the Cuban. The café con leche is delicious - whether it is first thing in the morning or it is an afternoon pick-me-up. Last time we both enjoyed a Key Wester for breakfast, but this time our hotel came with a great breakfast this time so we only had CCQ for lunch - albeit 3 times in 5 days! Always fast, always tasty, and very reasonably priced. How could you go wrong? Can't wait to return back to KW and order up another Cuban!

Best coffee evarrrrrr. Hubs found Cuban Coffee Queen on Yelp (yay) and so we walked over here on our Key West Day as we cruised on the Disney Magic. I had an iced coffee (loved the coffee ice cubes!!!) and hubs had a traditional cafe con leche. Definitely the highlight of our day, and can't wait to visit again someday!!!!!!

Since writing my original review in 2010, in which I said I might upgrade my rating, I've continued to enjoy the occasional Sunrise Special, a special favorite of mine for breakfast. i added another star to my earlier rating. I would have gone for 5, but it annoys me to have to wait as long as I do for it to be served. Cuban Coffee Queen is a victim of its success. There's almost always a line of people waiting for their orders. The small size of the stand doesn't allow for much expansion of the cooking area. So, I order, take my con leche and either sit or stand, waiting to be called for the sandwich. Usually no more than 10 minutes. SUNRISE SPECIAL 1/2 bacon or sausage, egg and cheese on a Cuban roll and a regular con leche. $4.29

Came here and loved it so much that I had to get another sandwich for plane ride home. The Cuban mix sandwich is one of the best sandwiches I ever had. Tried to find another one like it in key west but I was sorry every time I ordered one. My friend had the iced coffee and loved the coffee ice cubes. Nice touch

CCQ delivers con leches & breakfast sandwiches - ideal for the morning after or when you're just getting off to a slow start. Nothing beats having your coffee delivered, and it is well worth a 50 - 100% tip - especially during the summer or rain...

Waiting 20 minutes for a cheese toast order only to get home to find out they gave me plain toast is ridiculous. Everyone was complaining about the slow times on food and the concept of drinking your coffee with your meal must be lost on them.

Great little coffee stand. I had the cafe con leche and my boyfriend had the ice coffee. They were both delicious. I would def go back. Good prices also.

Living in Seattle we have coffee shop in every block, so we have high expectations when it comes to our coffee.CUBAN COFFEE QUEEN is our favorite coffee place in Key west, INEXPENSIVE almost half the price you pay if you go to starbucks... their cafe con leche really good if you like Iced coffee the ICE is made out of coffee and I mean coffee ice cube.. that's kinda cool, so your coffee doesn't get watered down when the ice melts..... genius and unique! Love love their coffee...

As far as coffee goes, Baby's Coffee (in the Florida Keys) is the top notch coffee shop that I used to compare all others (only because it offers consistently great coffee). So, with that being said, Cuban Coffee Queen offers some damn good coffee that is the first coffee shop that is on par with Baby's. And although Baby's is more convenient, I could see myself passing up Baby's for the Queen because in addition to the obvious good coffee, they also offer plenty of grub (nice variety of breakfast and lunch sandwiches and some other goodies) at fair prices. Haven't tried the sandwiches yet though, but look forward to trying the Cuban Mix (and I was told it is a winner and I do love a good Cuban). *** since this review I have had the cuban mix (a bit too much lettuce but excellent nonetheless) and have tried the Key Wester breakfast sandwich (egg, cheese & bacon on pressed cuban bread) and it too was excellent. I have no idea where Coffee Queen buys their roasted beans, but please do not ever change that source. Most recently had Cuban Chocolate Mocha and Cafe Con Leche... both were plenty strong and a solid home run. I also have no idea where Coffee Queen buys their cuban bread, but whether they bake it themselves (doubtfully) or purchase it locally, please don't change that source either. I also had some Pan Cubano (pressed cuban bread with butter) and it was a winner (so tasty that I thought there was cheese or some other spread). The tiny coffee shop with outdoor window service is in a touristy location but still a longtime favorite of locals. The location offers a unique vibe with their oversized coffee mug planter and their wall mural to resemble a "greetings from Key West" postcard for visitors to pose in front of. Great picture to send off to all those friends and family not lucky enough to experience this tropical oasis. Last little point of interest: they deliver locally as well

This is the second time I visited this "hole in a wall". Really, it's a hole in a wall. The cafe con leche is amazing and I am a true coffee lover. Actually I am a coffee addicted junkie and I love their coffee. The coffee is strong and bold and doesn't have that watered down taste. In addition to the coffee they offer breakfast and lunch sandwiches. I tried the "Key Wester", which is scrambled egg, cheese, bacon on pressed cuban bread, AMAZING. My boyfriend had the Cuban Mix and he seemed to enjoy it. He also had Iced Cafe Con Leche and it looked like the ice cubes were made of coffee. I tried it and I really wanted to steal it. Looking forward to returning soon; like tomorrow morning.

This is a nice kiosk that serves Cuban coffee and some food. We come for the Coffee, either the café con leche or the sweetened Cuban espresso. They do an excellent job with these and the pricing is reasonable. They are located in the parking lot by the Half Shell Raw Bar, so it is super convenient to stop here walking, by bike, or in the car.

Its a small shack near the marina that i just stumbled upon years and years ago. Now that im heading down to the keys next week, this will be a first stop for me. The cubano expresso will knock your socks off

Cuban Coffee Queen is one of those experiences you hope to always remember. We visited for lunch, we visited for breakfast, we visited for just coffee and we also had breakfast delivered one morning. The cafe con leche is absolutely what the caffeine doctor ordered, the Cuban mix sandwich is the best Cuban sandwich ever ( and I have had my fair share ) and the breakfast sandwich ( name escapes me ) is perfect and substantial. VERY FRIENDLY service both delivery and at the walk up window. Do you have to wait a minute for your food? Without a doubt, they are crazy busy for good reason. This is for sure, WHEN we return to Key West my first coffee of the vacay will be with the wonderful folks at Cuban Coffee Queen. Only quality here, folks.

Perfect place to go on an early morning walk on the harbor. With excellent views and delicious coffee you can't go wrong. Was a great find in Key West. Tried the Mocha and it was fantastic. Inexpensive and a laid back atmosphere, Cuban Coffee Queen lets the product speak for itself and it says wonderful things!

  • Jake R.

This was great! The Cuban sandwich was terrific. Nicely seasoned meat. The proportions of the other ingredients were spot on. Not too much of any one thing. Good pickles sliced lengthwise not just store bought slices. White rice was perfectly done, lightly seasoned and not overdone. For 18 dollars my wife and I were stuffed. Do visit!

Thank you, Yelp, for helping us find awesome places like this. It is tucked away in a spot we never would have found without you. What a gem! We had the Jose Marti sandwich, Havana Rice & Beans, and the best iced coffee we have ever found. The Mojo Pork was fantastic, maybe the best pork we've ever eaten. Can't recommend this place highly enough. Can't wait to go back to try the Havana Beef, Cuban Mix and Cuban Black Beans and Corn Salad.

We first discovered CCQ when in Key West January 2010, and stopped most mornings for coffee and something to eat. Again in November 2010, we made this a stop each day for colada, iced coffee and some cheese toast or a cuban mix. It's a daily stop for us now, for coffee and cheese toast in the a.m. Service is friendly and familiar here. They usually remember what you like if you return a few days in a row. The food is made to order right there and, for a little hole in the wall, there's a lot of menu to explore. Pricing is very reasonable. Good place for early risers to get a coffee and something to eat, find a bench and read the paper in the a.m. You see lots of locals eating here, as well. My new favorite place to start the day in K.W. This is a walk up food stand - Not a sit-down restaurant.

One of the most memorable places I went to during my trip to Key West. Great iced coffee, seriously good stuff but the SANDWICHES--oh man, they were to die for. We enjoyed them while sitting on the edge of the nearby pier watching the fish navigate between the small yachts (sidenote: the locals who owned boats were very friendly--they told us all about the different fish). I expected this place to be a little bit touristy (don't get me wrong--there is a gift shop practically on CCQ's front patio), but between the way the ice cubes in my coffee were actually frozen, Cuban style coffee and the uniqueness of the sandwich (wrapping and all)--I truly felt... maybe a bit international right here in the United States. I highly recommend stopping by here one morning if you're ever in town.

Great Cuban coffee - that's whys we stopped. I also got the Cuban bagel on a whim and it was fabulous! Flattened everything bagel with cream cheese inside and fresh honey drizzled on too. So freakin good.

  • Bill P.

We ordered two Cubans to eat on the way home on the Key west express and they where delicious. They had a large portion of pulled pork and ham which was very tasty. I would definitely go back the next time we're visiting Key West.

  • Ada L.

This place is cute, staffed by the trendy hipsters of Key West. It's a coffee and sandwich bar on the side of the road: we only tried one sandwich and it was very good but not as good as Kim's Kuban! Nevertheless, in terms of ambiance it was great, and the food was of a high quality.

    (4)
  • Lynn W.

The coffee and sandwiches are incredible!! The location is convenient if you are getting on one of the boats, if not, then go to the location in Key Lime Square. Well worth the walk.

Good to go. Awesome coffee and the breakfast sandwiches are bomber. Hit it up if you are in the area. They also have another location somewhere off of Duval st.

This is the real deal. Coffee , breakfast, sandwiches. We went there for early morning breakfast coffee , lunch for a sandwich and then because it was so hot we got an iced coffee. Everything was right up to par!

  • Laken S.

A place I will never forget, and hope to return to! Outstanding service and the most delicious coffee in the area (and the best I've ever had). Limited seating but who cares when you're surrounded by the beauty of Key West? Unfortunately we discovered this little place two days before our departure, otherwise I would have definitely gone all 7 days of the trip!

My wife and I only ordered coffee (cortadito and colada), both were excellent. Loved this Cuban hut, very nice. Even had Cuban music playing outside, recommend you try it.

  • Zach L.

We had a turkey club sandwich and a Main Lander breakfast sandwich, both come with plantation chips and a lolly pop! Food was delightfully delicious. Turkey club was served as a double decker whole wheat, and the breakfast sandwich was on a amoroso hoagie roll. Coffee was delicious! No tables here, but we ate on benches in the shade right in front of this shack. My only gripe with this place is the wait I had for my food! It was a bit long for two quick sandwiches. But overall a good experience and some good food.

  • Chad C.

Normally, fueling my caffeine addiction is a drab pit stop each morning. Not in Key West. Getting Cuban coffee is a cultural experience not just another stop for a sad, caffeine-addicted man to get his fix. I opted for the sunrise special - a cafe con leche (get the sugar for goodness sake!) and half a breakfast sandwich. It was the perfect start to the day. Keep in mind that when busy, it takes a while for orders to be fulfilled. If you are running late for your early morning charter, come back later.

This could have easily been one of my favorite eateries in Key West. Great litte breakfast/lunch spot. Quick and delicious! The barista was very nice and actually let me taste an espresso concoction that he was making for himself--and I had to order it bcause it was so good! Strong, yet sweet and smooth. What we ordered: Cafe con leche Egg and Cheese Sandwich Key Wester I wish I lived in Key West just so I could have this breakfast every day.

  • Joye P.

Best coffee on the island, hands down. Very good breakfast sandwiches. A little slow, for a small food stand. Open early (6:30am). You can call-ahead your order, but they won't make your coffee till you show up, so you still have to wait. Only a couple of benches, for outdoor seating. Best to get stuff "to go."

My girlfriend had raved about this place for months and nobody else in the family seemed to agree with her. So when we finally went down there I went with her to check it out to be a nice guy. Yet when I got there, the Iced Mocha Con Leche and the Cuban Queen sandwich were some of the best things I had on the island. I ended up going there almost everyday and can't wait to go back. The ice cubes are made out of coffee so when they melt it's more coffee, not watered down coffee. The sandwich is made with pressed Cuban bread and stacked with loads of stuff. It is just a place I can't say enough about. I highly recommend it if you get the chance to visit the island.

It's a shack! A tiny little delicious shack like something out of a delicious dream or a Brothers Grimm Fable! So, so, so worth a trip here!

If you find yourself in the area and need coffee or a quick meal then this place is okay. If you want the best cuban coffee in this paradise island, I highly recommend Sandy's Cafe.

Best coffee in the island, it's worth the wait. This was my favorite place to bike to in the morning and for those mornings we didn't have the steam to get there they delivered! I love the tomato and cheese toast! We will return on our next visit to key west!

    (5)
  • Bob B.

This is a very simple review for a very simple shack. Get the cuban and get the iced coffee. It's going to be good and messy and you will love it! The place is literally a little shack so you just take your order and find a place to sit or walk around and enjoy the weather. The service is awesome. Last time Betty and I were in Key West we ate here twice.

    (5)
  • Fiona F.

Stopped by for coffee - got a Cafe Con Leche. Very tasty, fair price! Good service. The rest of their menu looked delicious and very fairly priced. However, there isn't really anywhere to sit and enjoy the food - the cafe is counter service only with no seating.

  • Kendra C.

My favorite is the bucci, or iced cafe con leche, complete with the coffee ice cubes, so it keeps its intensity ! Also sweetened with cane sugar. Yummmm. If only I could find a way to get one delivered here in MA ! I love the bicycle & scooter delivery system. Also Cuban mix is such an awesome sandwich! You know you have arrived in Key West when you have these yummies in your hands!

If you doing nothing else in K.W. you have to experience the CCQ! The BEST Cuban Coffee ever. The breakfast Cuban sandwich (the Key Wester) is to die for. Wonderful staff and very friendly patrons.

  • Linda P.

Another great food truck in Key West! A lot of the raves for the Cuban Queen are for her fantastic coffee and I am sure they are well deserved. The coffee is bold, strong and not bitter. I am just not a huge Cuban coffee connoisseur (I'm more of a Starbucks caramel macchiato girl). I did love the coffee ice cubes in the ice coffee! I was not a fan of the Cuban bread or breakfast sandwiches.........just too much bread and kinda on the dry side. The real hidden gem of the Cuban Coffee Queen: the CUBAN SANDWICH!!!!!!!! Best in the WORLD! Tons of succulent, garlic infused, moist PORK. This is my husbands favorite sandwich. When I asked him how many stars he would give it he blurted out: SIX. It is just that amazing. Five stars for the Cuban Sandwich. Thank you Yelp for leading me to the Queen. All hail La Reina Cubana!

    (4)
  • Nichole K.

The Cuban Queen Mix is one of the best sandwiches I have ever had. The pork on this sandwich is absolutely delicious. If you want a big breakfast or lunch, this one has got you covered. The Cafe con Leche is also delicious. The staff is very friendly both at the location and if you order delivery. That's right, they deliver breakfast! No more room service, EVER!

    (5)
  • Daniel R.

First, no water offered before espresso (cafficito), not even from a water jug. Most espresso drinkers drink water before having espresso. Second, at $2.00 for a poor espresso is a sad story. In Miami, you can buy a Cuban Coffee (espresso) at many, many locations for $0.60 - $0.80 and in most cases it is very good. I believe that most Cubans, like myself, would be very disappoint with the Cuban Coffee Queen. Just another tourist trap! Also, I wonder why they have a service window that says "Locals Only"? Maybe they can order a proper cafficito at that window.

Just a quick morning snack before heading out for our snorkeling trip. Ordered Havan Rice and Beans and beef, Iced black coffee, and Pan Cubano. All of the food was great, server/cashier was funny, and nice coffee shop atmosphere going on. Would have given 5 stars, except, the beef had a bit more gristle than I expected.

I went here every morning I was in Key West except one, and I missed it that day. Highs: The Cuban Coffee, duh. Ice cubes made of coffee. Buttery Cuban bread. Lows: Having a hard time with this one Overall: Check it out.

This is at the top of my list for "Most Amazing Yelp Finds"! Whenever I'm in Key West the search is on for The Best Mixto on the Key. This search has taken me down some interesting streets and I've even gotten a Mixto out of a stand in a laundromat (it wasn't as good as I was hoping, if you're wondering). But lo and behold, Cuban Coffee Queen is hiding in plain sight. It's more of a Lean-to on-the-wall than a hole-in-the-wall, but that's just semantics. The Cuban Mix really isn't really the main show here. It's more about the coffee (oh goodness, that coffee!) and the breakfast items. But the Mojo pork is just about the most flavorful and juicy that I've encountered. The sandwich even comes with a side of plantain chips and dessert. OK, so the dessert is a dum dum, but how cute is that?

  • Toft W.

Best coffee in Key West. Awesome location and vibe. I had the Cuban Queen mix which was easily big enough for two people. Someone else in our party had the turkey club, it was also amazing. If you're on the island. Go here for brunch and then hit the beach. You won't be disappointed.

Excellent Cuban coffee !! There is usually a line but ,the line moves pretty quickly. Definitely prefer my Cuban coffee con leche and I like it hot no matter what the temperature is outside! You must get the Cuban bread with butter eat with your coffee. For the bread & coffee it was about $4 ...far cry from Starbucks! The little stand has character! Even roosters and chickens runnimg around.

  • Jason B.

It's a coffee and food shack. Great cafe con leche. Very popular place but a little tough to find. Ask a local if you can't find it! We asked at the ticket booth at the intersection. Nice people working here...

  • Lixin Z.

Great coffee with no doubt! However the tuna sandwich was nothing like what I expected. The tuna petty was mixed with bean paste which made it rather dense; it was flavorful enough though with fresh vege and mayo. While the pork was interestingly seasoned, the bean and rice taste blend. Price wise it was alright, service is not meeting my expectation but being a street vendor I probably shouldn't complaint. Coffee is a must try and would've deserved a 5 star, yet the food was disappointing enough I had to take off 2.

  • Lara S.

I love the idea of this place. A Cuban coffee place with personality in Key West. And, it's in the middle of tourist central, where kitsch takes over. The place is actually a cart-ish looking spot with benches outside to sit. A huge plus is that they deliver. Coffee, food, snacks - delivered. That sounds good to me. They seem to accomplish this very quickly with scooters with coolers mounted to the back. We didn't get delivery, we visited the actual place, but I think it's cool that they deliver. My overall experience was ok at the Cuban Coffee Queen, but the shortcoming for me was that I wasn't that impressed with the actual coffee. I should preface this by saying that I am from Miami and Cuban coffee and Miami are synonymous in my mind. So, if you've never had Cuban coffee, maybe this place would be just fine. Another bummer was that the person at the counter didn't know what a tostada was (Cuban toast). Apparently, there it's called pan cubano, and if you don't call it that they won't know what you're talking about. The tostada, though, actually did taste good and it was big enough to share.

  • C C.

This little stand is excellent. It's a staple of an institution, and in the early hours you'll find tour guides, boat operators, and other locals stopping in for a cafe con liche on their way to start their day. Though there's a lot of freshwater conchs and young locals staffing, it's owned and run by a wonderful Cuban who keeps the food and drink authentic and of high quality. Their delivery scooters can get to you on a lazy day, and their iced drinks are a lifesaver on a hot and humid day. I'd say this was a hidden gen given that it's rarely overwhelmingly crowded, but it's so overt and in plain sight that to call it such would be unfair. Ultimately, it's a great opportunity for some great, authentic food on the north side of the island and worth your time to visit.

    (4)
  • Michael D.

Super affordable and the coffee was amazing. They were friendly and also had great smoothies. Something different on the island especially due to its really low prices, a pleasant surprise when in the Key West. This was realllyy good and a nice taste of something different.

  • Katerina S.

Being of Cuban heritage from Miami, I know my Cuban coffee. It's definitely not *the best* Cuban coffee I've tried, but still very good! They don't make it too sweet either, which is nice. I took off a star because they ran out of fresh coconut water in the coconut shells :(

    (4)
  • John S.

Terrific cafe con leche (although I don't drink coffee so what do I know). The breakfast sandwiches are fine, but not great. The bagel was Cuban flat bread with a whole poked through the center, and multi-grain seeds added to the top. Cute, but not a bagel.

Killer coffee and they deliver. Bonus! Cubano sandwich is a deal for 6.75. Easy for two to enjoy and better than the others I tried on the island. Coffee alone is worth the trip over.

Awesome breakfast sandwiches and great coffee, would definitely recommend. You definitely won't leave hungry, the sandwiches are huge. They have benches to eat there or also a good place for pickup.

Cafe con leche was not on par with authentic Cuban cafe con leche that I have had in Miami. It was an American latte. But good price for a 12 oz latte.

Don't blink or you'll miss this tiny little place. But, what it's lacking in size, it makes up for in taste! Hands down the best Cuban sandwiches north of Havana! A must when in Key West!

Hi, my husband and I celebrated our 10-year wedding annivesary in Key West last week (my husband and I honeymooned here). We pretty much ate here every single day. We had the iced cafe con leche and tried the cuban bagel and a blt on cuban bread. I love just about anything on Cuban bread! We had a conversation with Josh (rooster haircut) and he is such a nice guy and I was impressed with how all of the staff were so laid back, quick and friendly. If I lived in Key West, I would eat there everyday. I am sure going to miss it!

This is a great little gem! It is a stand-alone/take away hut tucked away on an alley behind a parking lot, next to Mac's Sea Garden (at the end of Margaret St near Turtle Kraals). They make one of the best Cuban Mix sandwiches on the island ($6.50 & big enough to share). They have great breakfast sandwiches and Cuban coffee too. You won't be disappointed when you visit this quick & easy place for breakfast or lunch. They open early and close at sunset. Simply..........delicious!

I adored this little food hut in Key West. They don't have a large menu, but what they do offer is good. When we rolled up for lunch I was craving a good ol' South Florida Cuban sandwich (they are ever so hard to find in other places for some reason) and so I ordered the Cuban Mix sandwich from the menu. Pretty much like a traditional Cuban, but with lettuce, tomato, and onions thrown into the mix if you will. The pork was uh-mazingly delicious and if you didn't want it on a sandwich you could have gotten it over rice and beans like Sir Nicholas did. But, seriously the bread was what I've been missing in my Cuban sandwiches elsewhere and this one definitely did not disappoint. This isn't a restaurant so there really isn't seating per se, but there are a few benches out front and a small counter on the other side with some bar stools so you can get your food and eat it outside. Or you can take it to go if you don't want to eat hunched over your lap. As many others have written this isn't the fastest food you can get, but it is well worth the wait. Plus while you're waiting you can take your picture in front of the postcard-like wall. And that is a pretty rad wall if I do say so myself.

I can't say enough great things about this place! Absolutely amazing espresso (aka bucci), cafe con leche (try it with vanilla or chocolate), and Cuban bagels (flattened, large-enough-to-share, salty and buttery Cuban bread filled with a little sweet cream cheese). Prices are very reasonable for the quality and portions, especially for a such a touristy town. We stayed on the 300 block of Duval and it was an easy/short walk over to Cuban Coffee Queen. Honestly, breakfasts at the Cuban Coffee Queen are our fondest memories of the entire vacation. If you visit Key West without coming here at least one time, you are making a tremendous mistake ... I give this little coffee shop the highest recommendation!

After watching an episode of the Kardashians when Khloe was addicted to cortaditos, my husband was adamant about trying it on our honeymoon. After finding this place on google, we have gave it a shot. We both were soon hooked and ventured across the island every morning for a cup. The food and staff were also great! Definitely a little gem!

It would not be a KeyWest trip without at least 7 visits to Cuban Coffee Queen. The Cuban coffee is great made to order. Not a straight espresso kinda person....Cafe con leche might be for you. Other beverages for non coffee crowd but no booze. Duval St. Has enough of that. The sandwiches are great too. Jose Marti is served hot with roasted pork, cheese and horseradish mayo. Don't expect a sit down lunch... Only small benches provided so take your sack lunch to the waterfront next door and enjoy. Service is friendly and home style. Sit back close your eyes and have a good cuppa joe that will make you think your 90 miles off shore. One warning...the little crumb snatcher birds hang around for a parcel. They also sit in the tree above the bench. You will hear them laughing when they ....um...unload on ya,

Best Cuban coffee in key west. Their cortadito was amazing . We only had vegetarian, their hummus/veggie sandwich was the best and the black bean burger was not bad but was overshadowed by the veggie sandwich :) Vegetarian friendly place with lot of options.

Wonderful little shack that has Cuban Cafe, sandwiches and small meals. If you are a coffee drinker this is the place to be. Great place to come for breakfast or lunch. Its not your typical restaurant its a small booth and you order through a window. Theres some benches located around the permitter of the booth.

This place is FLIPPIN AWESOME!!! We tried it on Saturday morning and had to come back the following day to have it again before we had to head home. When we arrived we were a little worried about the wait, there were about 10 people waiting in line, but it only took about 10 minutes to order and get our coffee. I dont know what they do but whatever it is.. keep doing it. The Cafe Con Leche is divine. I havent savored a Cafe Con Leche that much in a while. (And I have it almost daily) The "Cuban Bread" is not Cuban Bread.. its 'American-Cuban Bread'... its definitely no east 4th Avenue Bakery in Hialeah Pan Cubano! lol But its good. Nice and warm, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside.. yummy with the coffee. Will be back as soon as possible!

You HAVE to try the Cuban bagel!! So good and with honey on top! Good food and drinks for a great price. Make it a stop on your trip to key west.

BF loved the coffee and he really is a coffee snob and the sandwiches were great! I had the BLT and BF had the Cuban mix. Both were amazing! Not much else to say. I would be back every other day if I lived in Key west!

Literally a small gem, hole-in-the-wall. Visit Cuban Coffee Queen if you come to the Keys! You'll get some of the best and most delicious caffe Cubano in the area! Get 1 shot ($1) or 2 shots ($2) with sugar and/or milk. You can also get American coffee. On a hot day, get the iced coffee. It's delicious..and the ice cubes are made of coffee, too! This gem is authentic and great for on-the-go!

Awesome little place!! People are friendly, the food is delicious, breakfast all day and good coffee...what else could one ask for? This place also serves lunch and has rehydration/hangover concoctions! Definitely needed after a night out on Duval. This was my first time here, and it definitely won't be my last time!

Best breakfast sandwich (Key Wester), Period. Nice service, coffee pretty good, but pricey (2.75 cortadito...). Instant favorite.

I was in Key West for the first time this past week and picked up lunch from the Cuban Coffee Queen one day. This spot is really just a window you order from and there are a few seating spots to park at while you wait. I got myself an iced coffee (cafe con leche) to sip on while I waited, and it was fantastic. Strong coffee, creamy milk, all shook up and icy cold. A perfect bev to start a day in steamy Key West. I got a Cuban Mix sandwich that I ate outside at a bench by the ocean. The sandwich was delicious and the flavors were great -- pulled pork, ham, Swiss cheese, mustard and pick PLUS lettuce, tomato, onion and mayo. YUM. If I could teleport one to myself right now, I would. I will say two things to note about the sandwich -- one, it's messy. Like MESSY. If I did it again, I'd run back to my condo to eat so I'd be hear a sink for cleanup. Was a little tough eating it outside. Also, because of all the sauce and juicy meat, the bread gets soggy fast so it's in your best interest to eat it ASAP after getting it. I saved half of the sandwich to eat later that day and when I went for it, the bread was crazy soggy, so I just peeled it off and ate the meat and cheese. Definitely would stop back here next time I am in Key West for an iced coffee and a sandwich!!

Their iced coffee is some of the best I've had. Their ice is actually frozen cubed coffee, that way your iced coffee never gets watered down. Genius!

This is one of the two places we ate at during our two night stay in Key West. After one bad dining experience in Key West, I was a little afraid to go eat anywhere else in fear of racism. However, I figured how much unfriendly service could I encounter at a order, pay, and go place? Turns out, this place is very efficient and has very friendly service to everyone alike. There was even an asian couple in front of us with a slight asian accent (but still perfect English) and they got treated just like everyone else did -- in a friendly manner. Good sandwiches, strong cuban iced coffee, and delicious smoothies! They even have a cute photo opportunity with a "Greetings from Key West" mural sign on their store wall. I would definitely recommend getting food to go here and eating by the waterfront or while walking around mallory square. $21.95 for two sandwiches, a smoothie, and an iced cuban coffee served with friendly service and zero attitude.

Gringos making Cuban coffee. Nuff said. Staff was nice and typical Key West laid back attitude but Miami has me spoiled.

OMG the Iced Cuban COFFEE is OFF THE HOOK -- made with Expresso cubes and the cuban sandwich is the BEST I've had (comparing to Miami's cubans) It's a food truck so rent a bike while in Key West and make this one of your stops! You will not be sorry!

I don't like reviewing businesses been to only a couple times but Cuban coffee queen needs to be an exception. I've been here once and I just ordered delivery from here. The food I've had so far is amazing! Yesterday I had the egg and cheese breakfast sandwich...heavenly! The eggs were amazing the cheese wasn't overpowering and the bread was toasted to perfection. Today I ordered the hot roast beef sandwich and its amazing. Delivery did take 30 mins but its a small business (fewer employees and smaller work space) and when the food got here it was hot so I can't even fault them for that.

Best iced coffee around - when I woke up at home today it was all I wanted! The frozen coffee cubes really make the difference! Ate here twice on our most recent trip- stopped by for breakfast while wandering around and then had it delivered as we were packing up to leave. The Key Wester with the mojo pork has got to be the best breakfast sandwich ever - if you like pulled pork of course. The sandwiches are huge and you can probably share one - I however opted to inhale an entire thing myself! Every order comes with a bag of plantain chips and a dum dum lollipop - so fun!

We were in Key West (April '12) and needed a pick me up after an afternoon of walking and sightseeing. The Cuban coffee packs a punch and definitely lifted our spirits. (Loved the coffee ice cubes, why doesn't everyone do that?) After finishing our coffee, we realized we were hungry and had to try some of the Cuban pulled pork - outstanding! With the Plantains on the side, excellent. Everything was fresh and prepared to order (a little bit of a wait but we didn't mind.) For less than $10 a person we were blown away by the richness of the coffee and the savory tangyness of the sandwich. One of those "must try" places when in Key West! Just remember to go hungry!

Two weeks ago, I went to Key West and went to the Cuban Coffee Queen (twice). This morning I woke up wishing I could make their cafe con leche for myself (if you're reading this, CCQ owners, please consider a DC location!!). The cafe con leche was delicious both hot and iced. I had not had coffee for over a year (health reasons), but the cafe con leche was soooo worth breaking my coffee ban. Dark and rich, perfectly lightened and sweetened. Yes... I'll take one right now please! And the sandwiches! Oh, what sandwiches! The breakfast sandwich of ham, egg, and cheese on Cuban bread was greater than the sum of its parts. The Cuban mix was easily the best I've had anywhere -- due largely to the toothsome shredded roast pork and the airy crunch of the bread. This sandwich belongs in the famous sandwich pantheon, right between Katz's pastrami and Central Grocery's muffaletta.

  • David C.

Cuban Coffee Queen is just plain fun. Truly the best Cuban espresso I've ever had and I can't wait to try more things on the menu (when I do I might change my review to a 5 star). My only complaint is that it took a really long time to get a side of Cuban bread (waited 15 minutes.... for bread??).

    (4)
  • Elle E.

A decent, conveniently located stop for a bite and some Cuban coffee. That said, I thought the coffee was just average. ( If you want the real deal head over to Five Brothers - best Cuban coffee in the Republic.) Helpful hint - watch out if you're sitting on the benches under the trees - the birds will poop on you! But who really cares, you're in Key West for chrissakes ;-)

  • Aaron F.

Want breakfast in 15min? Under $7? Without leaving bed? And like me you favor a fat Cuban sammich over breakfast any day at 8am? This place wins the breakfast award in KW as far as I'm concerned. The mojo pork was tender, although it could have been a bit sweeter, and the fluffy bread made a great sandwich. A must do for their huge subs.

We had breakfast here twice on our trip to Key West. The breakfast items were simple, yet delicious. We tried the Cuban Bagel, Key Wester and Cheese Toast. All were delicious. My family of coffee lovers said their coffee was the best they've ever had.

Don't let any of the locals tell you someplace else is better than the Cuban coffee Queen. Coffee is amazing, seriously. I am more of a straight black coffee purist but the person I was with had the iced coffee and she was equally impressed.. Plus, they made my bulletproof coffee for me! Thanks guys for that.

Seriously good Cuban. This little ramshackle food hut near the marina/cruise ship docks is one of those finds that makes you squeal like a little kid at Christmas. You know the squeal...the one when you've just unwrapped the 12 inch GI Joe with Kung Fu Action standing next to the amphibious terrain vehicle with missle firing guns. WHEEEEEEE!!!! I have never had a Cuban Mix sandwich before, and this one has set the bar extremely high. The Mojo pork was the moistest, most flavorful pork I have ever had. The Cuban bread was perfectly crispy outside while easily tearable and chewable inside. The sandwich was large enough to share with my wife, but I could easily have eaten more. Yeah, it filled me up, but I wanted to keep on tasting that pork mixed with the perfect blend of mustard/mayo, pickles, tomato, lettuce and onions. Cafe con Leches were also the best we have had so far in Key West. Hint: Phone in your order for pickup or have it delivered. When I arrived to pick up my order, the line was 6 people deep, and not moving at all (it's a one or two person operation). But when I heard my name yelled out, I moved right to the front of that line, paid, and was on my way, much to the chagrin of the 6 people in front of me (and the 5 others that were waiting for their order to be filled)

Must admit to being a bit snobbish about West Coast coffee. Honestly seems to be an overall better coffee experience. While out exploring on the beach cruisers we decided to grab an iced coffee here and it was excellent. In fact, probably the best iced coffee we've had. Anywhere. Great service, reasonable prices and most importantly....great coffee. Pay them a visit.

We go to Key West about once a year and are always on the lookout for inexpensive places to add into our regular food rotation. The Cuban Coffee Queen fits the bill. It's cheap, fast, and - most importantly - delicious. I'm sad we hadn't been here before this trip, but we made up for lost time and went every day. The first day we were needing something more substantial after a bike around Key West, so we ordered the Key Wester sandwich and the Cuban Mix. Some people will like these sandwiches for their size, but the flavors are on point, too. We washed it down with a cafe con leche and an iced coffee. The cafe con leche is good, but the iced coffee is what we wound up getting every time we went back. Other mornings, we just wanted something small, so we got iced coffee and pan cubano, freshly toasted up on the sandwich press. Simple, delicious and for less than $10 - pretty much unheard of on Key West - we were happy customers.

Best Cuban sandwich I've ever had, and I've had a few authentic. Get the Cuban mix without the lettuce/tomato/onion for an authentic cubano. I had one a day once I discovered them! Friendly service and great coffee, too!

Easily the best coffee I found in the Keys. The Cuban Coffee was excellent and the cafe con leche was to die for. It's not that close to most hotels, but worth an early morning walk across Key West. There's no place to sit except on some wooden benches and the little building is in a parking lot, but I thoroughly enjoyed walking over for a cafe con leche and ambling back across town in the early morning light with a great cup of coffee.

  • Matt G.

Iced Cafe con leche was awesome, and the Key Wester breakfast sandwich was equally delicious. Definitely didn't need the whole thing, as it could easily have been shared. Best breakfast deal that I've found on the island.

First time I'd had Cuban coffee and I was pleasantly surprised as I'm not a hard core coffee drinker. I ordered the Con Leche (basically a sweetened Latte). I had it with Cuban bread and it was quite good. The bread alone was a flaky croissant like bread with butter which is ok by itself, buy when dipped in the coffee is much better.

Get the Cuban Queen Mix sandwich and a cafe con leche. This is classic key west experience. It's literally a shack with signs out front, no tables to sit at, but plenty of benches to relax on while you wait. It does take a little while to get your food, but it's all good because your cafe will come out first! Great place for a quick breakfast or to swing by and bring home lunch.

After a rough start with the Cuban Coffee Queen, I am now singing a different tune. In a previous review I mentioned not liking their breakfast sandwiches. Well, after trying breakfast sandwiches on Cuban bread at other locations, I've concluded I am not a breakfast sandwich kind of gal. However, I do enjoy their coffees. :) Then, I decided to give their lunch a try since my husband really likes their Cuban sandwiches. So, I ordered a Havana beans and rice with pork and let me tell you, it was delicious! And not only that, it was totally reasonable, which is something any person in Key West will appreciate. I loved it! I will definitely order from Cuban Coffee Queen again. I am so glad I gave this place another try.

This place hit the spot for a key morning snack in Key West. These little coffee stands make me so happy! It's great to be able to stumble up for coffee and toast, or a little heavier food if I'm in the mood. I got a combo that came with cafe con leche and a bacon-egg-and-cheese sandwich pressed on cuban bread. The con leche was great, I got mine sweetened, and it arrived just right, not too sweet. My sandwich rocked too. I would have loved some Sriracha to top it off, but it was still exactly what I needed after a night of libations. Tip: I gave about a 15% tip with my order and got my food/drink WAAAY before the people around me. It could have been chance, but I'm not so sure, especially since my food came at least 5 minutes before my friend's and she ordered right after me...

The cortaditas are amazing. I woke up on the second day after having it and walked straight back to get another one. The cuban bread is delicious and a great way to soak up some booze!

OK so this little shack at the seaport. Went for a coffee and a couple of breakfast sandwiches. Had to wait in line as it was busy. I ordered a Cuban coffee and two "Key Westers" which were egg, cheese, and bacon or ham on Cuban bread. It took probably 10 to 15 minutes to get the food. I don't mind waiting if its good. Got the grub and dug in. Pretty tasty and fresh breakfast sandwiches. Cuban bread appeared to be pressed and toasted. Nice touch and both very tasty. Cuban coffee wasn't the best that I've had but it did the trick. Nice little Key West shack to grab a breakfast sandwich. Not a favorite, but a keeper for sure. About $20 so once again, Key West prices apply.

The breakfast sandwich's and Cuban bagel are awesome...... The colada was not so awesome .... but the place was packed @ 8 am .. There are no tables or chairs just 2 little benches .. They also have awesome smoothies .. defiantly will head back next time I'm in key west

This place has some of the best coffee and breakfast I've ever had! We stopped by here twice during our week long stay, and I wish I would have found it earlier in the week. I would have been there more! The cafe con leche is fresh, HOT, and wonderful. My BF doesn't even really like coffee, and he drank 1/2 of mine!! The second time we ate breakfast there. I was thinking about $6.50 for an egg and cheese sandwich, really? But then it came out. Thick, HUGE slices of cuban bread with 2 fresh eggs slathered in melted cheese. The BF got the one with the sausage, eggs and cheese. We wish we would of shared because we couldn't finish it all! Totally worth the $. I got a quick tip from a local that she serves her Iced cafe con leches with coffee ice cubes. That's right, no regular melt and dilute your coffee ice... Actual frozen chunks of coffee. As the cubes melt, you get an extra jolt of caffiene. Wowza- I'm not even that jazzed after a 5 hour energy and a red bull. A perfect start to the day!

    (5)
  • Noelle H.

Great place to stop for a quick pick me up or lunch. The smoothies are fresh and yummy. I got a salad with hummus to go and the take out box weighed about 3 pounds. They even throw in Cuban bread. Unfortunately, I didn't get a chance to try the coffee (it was too hot!), but I will be back next time I'm in the Keys!

  • Melissa L.

I'm not sure what is stronger than jet fuel, but the coffee equivalent is the iced coffee here. We tried an egg and cheese sandwich, the cuban mix, and pan cubano. All were well prepared and tasty. My only real complaint (besides some of the idiots we had to wait with) is the order delivery seems a little disorganized at times. People seemed confused more often than not and it was hard to determine which food was yours and which drinks. And it wasn't that busy at the time. Still, not enough to stop anyone!

Great coffee shack right on the harbor in Key West. It did seem odd ordering a hot cafe con leche on a 90 degree day but 20 minutes later, after walking back to the hotel, the coffee was perfect. There really is nothing to this place other than a simple counter for ordering and classic simple ingredients. I only wish we had stopped by earlier in our visit. While our hotel offered a free coffee and breakfast it was well worth the trip over here on our last day in town for a proper cup of coffee. I also wish I had a chance to sample the food offerings, they looked pretty great. We were impressed both by the hot and iced coffee selections here. A bit off the beaten path for Key West but worth a visit for sure.

The most important thing you need to know about Cuban Coffee Queen is it's worth the wait! Coffee and Smoothie orders are quick, but if you're ordering food be prepared for a wait or call in your order ahead of time. I mistakenly ordered the Cuban Queen Mix instead of the Cuban Mix, but I'm glad I did. It was deliciously stacked with Mojo Pork, Ham, Turkey Breast, American Cheese, Bacon, Mayo, Mustard, Lettuce, Tomatoes and Onions. It also came with Plantain Chips and a Lollipop. I also ordered the Havana Rice and Beans with Mojo Pork, which I couldn't touch because I was so full. I ate it later and it still tasted great! As I reminisce, I'd love to be enjoying Cuban Queen Mix and a Cafe Con Leche as I watch the sunset at Mallory Square. *sigh*

  • Denise P.

BEST coffee and sandwiches in town. Hands down. Cordadito is the best. Came here several times during our stay to include an early morning wakey-wakey stop and the place awesome each time. Very inexpensive - breakfast has a Island Special with a half cuban breakfast sandwich (about the size of a full regular sandwich) and a Cafe Con Leche for less than $5. I wish i had this place near my house.

    (5)
  • Erik F.

I got a cuban mix with no lettuce, tomato, or onion and it was by far the best of the 4 cuban mix sandwiches I have tried in Key west. It may take a while to get your food but its worth the wait. Go here, leave happy.

Long live the Cuban Coffee Queen!!! When in Key West, seek 'her' out...You'll be happy you did. If I lived here, this would be a daily visit. As it is, I found it our second day here and have been going every day since. Cafe con leche with Cuban toast has been waking me up for the past 3 days and will again tomorrow. Stopped by with my wife today (2nd visit today!!!) and got an order of Rice and Beans w/Mojo marinated pulled pork...freaking awesome! The rice and beans on their own were alright, nothing outstanding IMHO but also not disappointing. Just seasoned beans with white rice. The addition of a large portion of juicy, pulled, Mojo marinated pork made it great. Brought it back to the hotel, splashed on a some of Peppers of Key West's "Hot Sauce #1" and I was riding high. On my 3rd visit, I brought our friend for her first time and they (unbeknownst to us) overcharged. Something didn't seem quite right but it didn't seem outrageous so I didn't bother to question it or add up the total in my head. When they called us to pick up our food the girl working the window told us that she also had been thinking it seemed too much, checked our receipt and refunded us the difference; $2 and some change. Needless to say, I was very impressed that she was cognizant and honest enough to go over the charges and proactively refund our money. In short, our stay in Key West has been fun but the thought of not having the Cuban Coffee Queen to frequent once we leave has be bummin' big time.

Try the Sunrise Special - Cafe con Leche and half of a Key West breakfast sandwich (ham, egg, and cheese on the freshest bread in town)!

  • Cory F.

Starwho? This is the ONLY place to go for coffee in Key West. Their cafe con leche is perfection in a paper cup! Everything on the menu is both delicious and reasonably priced. CCQ is one of the few establishments in Key West that isn't trying to squeeze every last penny out of the tourist population, and this (along with the stellar coffee) kept my boo and I coming back day after day. Only one caveat: you WILL have withdrawals!

    (5)
  • Rob P.

This place is ridiculously legit. Any time I'm in Key West I tend to eat quick, easy-to-carry foods so as to spend the least amount of time energizing and the greatest amount binge drinking. That's how I stumbled onto the Cuban Coffee Queen, as a presumptive fly-by to grab a quick infusion of Cafe Bustelo and a one-handed pressed sandwich snack. Little did I know that from that point forward I would make more stops here in a week than between Miami and Mile Marker 0 combined. The first illusion to dispel however is that just because it's a small Cuban sandwich stand, it's going to be quick. It's not, even when there's only one other person waiting and the line can often extend to ten or more. Want a tip? Call your order in ahead of time and come pick it up, problem solved-ish. Unfortunately you'll still have to queue with everyone else just to make it to the window for pick-up. I've never been much a fan of the "mix" version (where I'm from that means with lettuce and tomato in addition to the normal mustard, pork, ham, pickle and swiss; opinions on the nomenclature vary) of Cuban sandwiches but for some reason here they just hold me captive. Must have something to do with the tenderness and masterful seasoning of the pork, as has been repeatedly extolled already. The bread also; très magnifique! While I've worked my way through most of the menu I return always to either the normal Cuban or Cuban Mix. You just can't beat it. Everything comes with a side of plantain chips too. Sweet. They had my first four stars with the best Cubans I've ever eaten, and pulled the fifth with the perfectly brewed cortaditos they pump out here. There's nothing you need more in Key West when on an 18hr/day schedule than caffeine and there's no better place on the island. When I'm in town, I literally make three or more stops here a day to nosh and caffeinate. Don't miss it.

Wanted to try an authentically made Cuban sandwich, so made a stop at this place. The Cuban sandwiches at $6 each are a fantastic deal and HUGE. I didn't read the prior reviews in advance, but I agree that 1 sandwich was good enough to share between 2 people for a normal lunch appetite, as it is stuffed with meat. The pork meat is delicious. However, we waited awhile for them to make 2 sandwiches with minimal line, so don't come here in a rush.

BEST coffee in Key West, without a doubt!!! After close to a week of lame coffee, I almost wept with joy at discovering this gem. My cafe con leche with 2 sugars was perfect. I wanted to crawl into my cup and bathe in its deliciousness. The cheese toast was great post hangover. So simple, so tasty. And the egg and cheese on Cuban bread was super filling - could only eat half! We walked up the first time from the bottom of Duval and, cuz we were lazy and on vaca, we had it delivered the next day. Sweet free coffee delivery! If you're inKey West, you gotta try Cuban Coffee Queen!

This is where you get coffee in Key West! The Cafe Con Leche is to die for darlin'

The best Cuban in the Keys! Tasty cuban bread dressed with crunchy pickles, pulled pork, ham and dijon. Inexpensive and a huuuuge sandwich. Both of us had to save half for later. The price point of this little stand is under $8 mostly and it was very busy when we were there. Lots of locals (taxi drivers mostly) were stopping by to get their lunch and the owner clearly knew a lot of regulars. Obviously this is THE place to go. Highly recommended.

Fantastic!! The iced vanilla cafe con leche was simply the best iced coffee I've ever had. I also ordered the key wester which is just a basic breakfast sandwich, but my wife had the Cuban mix and it was nothing short of fantastic. The only drawback is the lack of seating and restrooms.

  • Clayton A.

The coffee is priced right and tastes great. I think a large coffee was $1.75 and a chocolate mocha was $2.75. Cannot beat that anywhere.

This is the place to go for a cuban sandwich! Cuban Coffee Queen is off the beaten path and definately worth the work to find it. They had the best cuban sandwich in the Keys and maybe even beats the cuban sandwiches found in the Little Havana (Miami) area. Much thanks to the local who directed us here! The cuban sandwich was huge and tasty and a bargain at 6.99! My husband also really enjoyed the coffee. The staff seemed laid back, the food and drink are definately worth the wait.

We visited this delightful little food stand several times during our couple days in Key West. The cuban coffee con leche (particularly the iced vanilla con leche) were fantastic and the breakfast sandwiches are hearty and delicious. Cannot recommend enough for a quick breakfast or caffeine pick me up!

  • Valerie H.

Very good and very fresh. The Cuban was more like a "sub" with the lettuce and tomato and i would say lightly pressed not like I'm used to, but maybe the one' s I've had were not traditional, who knows. Either way the sandwich was great. Keep in mind you will eat on a bench holding you food unless you take it away or get it delivered. It was a hot day and we had not had our coffee yet so we had the iced and it was good. The ice cubes were Coffee, nice twist and the sugar was crystal cane sugar. One more thing, the sandwich was plenty big enough to share if you are not with a hearty eater. I would say add it to your to do list while in the Keys.

I am a huge coffee fan and there is nothing better than waking up in the morning sitting on the water in Key West with a nice hot coffee in your hand. What could be better huh? Well doing just that with a Cuban Cafe Con Leche in your hand. The coffee was absolutely amazing, strong and flavorful. I actually went here on our second to last day in KW, otherwise I probably would have made a stop here every morning. If you love a good cup of coffee, this is the place to go. Oh yeah, and the sandwiches were also really good to start off the day. Enjoy.

    (5)
  • Crista B.

Cafe con leche (iced) was definitely on the list of things to enjoy when in Key West. This was the best coffee that we found ... especially with the coffee ice cubes! Skip the chain places and enjoy some real coffee before getting on a boat or exploring for the day.

AMAZING! Best cafe con leche and breakfast sandwiches! We went every morning and I miss it so very much!

  • Brian E.

We followed the other recommendations on Yelp and were plesantly surprised to find this jem! It makes me feel good that Yelp is able to help me find a place like this off the beaten path which was so good! My wife and I both LOVED the Cafe con Leche. Both days we were there for breakfast. We really liked the Cuban Bagel. The Cuban toast was ok, but did go well with the coffee. Overall, it's such a good place and so cheap compared to all the other options for eating on and just off Duval St.

  • Anna p.

HOLY YUMMMMMMM!!!! The coffee was amazing!!! There sandwiches were HUGE and succulent. The cuban bread was oh so soft and the fact that they had taste cakes, well need I say anything more. Apparently from what I could overhear while eavesdropping, one of the guys who owns this little slice of heaven is a handsome fells who was offered an iron chef position from the very beginning of that show and turned them down because of his love of the Keys and the Ocean, plus they wanted him to cut off his sweet mullet and he wasn't having it. Do not miss a chance to stop by here and have a Cafe con Leche' with a pulled pork sandwich but bring a friend cause you won't be finishing it by yourself.

Our experience at the Cuban Coffee Queen was FABULOUS! We were visiting Key West, FL and was told we must eat here and I would say the same to anyone also visiting you won't be disappointed!

  • Jonathan P.

The first time I went I had the sunrise special and was definitely impressed with the coffee, sandwich, and scenery. The second time I went (right before my trip to the Dry Tortugas which is freakin' AWESOME) they screwed up my coffee something miserable and the cuban sandwich I had was not stellar by any means. Have had comparable if not better back in Tampa. Probably would go back for the breakfast special when they are not busy but if there is about 4-5 people in line (busy for this place as it's a small trailer with only 1-2 employees working it) don't go.

  • Jes S.

Loved, loved, loved the ice coffee. This was my go to spot for coffee while vacationing in Key West. I'm longing for some more of that rich, flavorful Cuban coffee and a delicious Jose Marti sandwich to go with it. The staff were friendly and efficient. If you're in the area, it's definitely worth a visit (or two!)

aaaaa cuban coffee queen how i wish i could drag you back to san diego with me. Was in key west for a week and ate here 4 times. twice because other places had crap for food and we were still hungry. We new we could come back here and get a bite. keep this place saved on your mental GPS, when your done whith the over priced tourist traps come here to get a good bite to eat.

Good food. Delicious coffee. Friendly service. And since you can call in an order, we got used to placing the call about two blocks away (walking) and the order was ready a few minutes after we got there.

  • Robert V.

Hit this place twice with my wife on a weekend in Key West. Coffee was great and the breakfast sandwich was big and tasty. On the second visit, the wife and I were a bit hung over, so we shared a coconut water served in the shell. To our pleasant surprise, it was served cold! They must keep them in a fridge somewhere! Nice touch. Likewise the coffee ice cubes.

    (4)
  • Vanessa M.

Really nice and friendly staff... yummy iced coffee for $2 (you'd pay at least $5 at Starbucks)... good sandwiches. Not bad at all.

    (3)
  • Cameron M.

Fantastic coffee. Best coffee I had in Florida. Definitely worth seeking out if you love a good cup. A disclaimer: I was having the iced coffee as I'm not big on the heavy dairy. Also, the sandwiches are awesome. Large, delicious, and well priced. Just don't expect fast service. The line can be long and, since they do deliveries, you may have to wait a while for your breakfast sandwich even if no one else is there.

    (5)
  • Amy S.

Wow- what an amazing find! This was our first time in Key West and obviously our first time at the Cuban Coffee Queen. We both had the "Cuban American" coffee. I might have the name wrong but its the coffee with a shot of Bucci- delicious and just the right amount of pick me up! For breakfast we had the Cubano Mix and the Cubano Queen- both of which where unbelievable. The pulled pork on the sandwich was insanely delicious, the bread was yummy, and I even loved the pickles- which I typically pick off! The sandwich was huge, came with a bag of plantains and a dum-dum for dessert for around $6. Tremendous quality- and especially for the money. I think the Coffee Queen may need a castle soon.

    (5)
  • Pierre C.

The best thing about Key West. Get the cafe con leche in the sunrise special that comes with an egg/cheese/ham or bacon. It's the best coffee you can ever hope to drink. And they deliver too!

Open early, great coffee (with coffee ice cubes), and great service. It looked like a dinky place that's been open forever but it turns out it's only been open for 2 years. All in all, I enjoyed it!

  • J T.

One of my favorite morning rituals? Grabbing a special (1/2 breakfast sandwich and a coffee), a paper and heading down to the docks for a quiet morning experience. Not a whole lot in life more relaxing than waking up with a Cafe con Leche and the sound of the water. They have a few seats around the back of the building as well if you're looking for a little quiet without the walk.

  • James L.

Best coffee joint on the island. Beats the hell out of paying $6 for a coffee at Starbucks (2.75 is as expensive as it comes at CCQ)

The iced coffee here is AWESOME. Not diluted, creamy, and strong. The pan cubano (cuban toast with butter) was also delicious. You HAVE to come here if you're in Key West. You will not regret it.

LOVE- LOVE- LOVE this PLACE! I found it here on YELP back in August while in Key West for a 5 day trip. I ate my breakfast here nearly every morning while there! The staff is way cool, they remembered my name the next day, were happy and enthusiastic. The coffee and food is off the chain!!!! Im going back to Key West in November to get married. I will eat here and recommend this tiny little gem of a place to all my guests. Thanks for the great food and cheerful experience Cuban Coffee Queen!

    (5)
  • Zahava W.

The cuban coffee here is incredible, along with their excellent breakfast sandwiches pressed on cuban rolls. But look out, because they're big. No one in our group could finish a whole one. The fruit smoothies are really good, too. We went out of our way to come back. Plus, they deliver, but we elected to ride our bikes over and hang out on the benches, sipping coffee while we waited for our sandwiches. Wish we could go back there now. Wanted to try everything on the menu.

A trip to Key West without a stop here would be criminal!

Good coffee and breakfast, I'm dinging them for bad service and slow wait times...we had a tour to catch and they were prioritizing deliveries over people standing around waiting.

Cafe Con Leche was perfect and the Keywesters were amazing delicious yumminess!! Would recommend to anyone visiting or living in Key West. Can't wait to go back.

Cafe con leche was the best I have ever had and bacon, egg and cheese sandwich was delicious. I wish we had made this one of our first stops in Key West instead of our last....we would have definately come back for more!

One word for this place - YUM! Though it looks like I've only checked in twice, I actually went there every morning during my recent Key West trip. Even almost missed our airboat ride because i insisted we go before leaving the Keys. It's not a sit-down place, but if you're looking for a quick cafe con leche to tame your hangover or a sandwich to throw in the cooler on the boat, you're in the right place. Their coffee is strong and delish - you can get them iced or hot. And like the geniuses they are, they invented ice cubes made of coffee so when your ice melts in that steamy Florida heat, you still have coffee! As far as the food goes, I reccommend the Jose Marti - a pressed pulled pork sandwich with melted provolone, horseradish mayo, lettuce and tomatoes. It's juicy, full of flavor and to die for! You'll have to wait a minute out in the parking lot in front of the walk- up window but it's worth it. Prices aren't bad either Can't wait to go back!

This is a tiny counter, but it serves delicious delicious coffee and awesome sandwiches. And given high prices all around Key West, it's a pleasure on your wallet too. Friendly people, and a good atmosphere!

Excellent food...don't mind the appearance! Prices are more than reasonable, unlike many other places on the Keys.

Wow !!!! I have been eating Cuban sandwiches , living in Miami, for 35 years. And this Cuban sandwich is in the top three best I have ever had. Saying that I don't remember the first two. Instead of "mix Cuban sandwich" they had on the menu. I choose to have it Miami style, No tomatoes, No lettuce, No onions and usually no mayo, but added the mayo this time and it was an emotional Cuban delight. The one ingredient besides the Swiss is the quality of the ham and pork, especially the pork. The slices of pork makes or breaks the "Cuban" and this my friends was slow cooked and seasoned with Moho to perfection. I took a bite while I was driving and almost ran of the road it was so good, I parked my car and gave the respect and attention to this succulent sandwich, that it deserved. Gracias!

  • Juan R.

If I could I would give them 10 stars. This place is absolutely amazing. Not only was the sandwich delicious, but the smoothie was to die for. As a small little business with a beautiful mural on the wall, I'd have to say that this is one of the "must places" to eat at.

EXCELLENT coffee (traditional con leche), great and inexpensive breakfast sandwiches a few steps away from the un-original tourist traps, extremely efficient staff! The coffee ice cubes are way too cute and unique to pass up!

  • Jill P.

Fabulous little place for Cuban coffee! The cafe con leche was hot and really flavorful and wonderful. They gave us the grilled cuban bread with it and they happily gave me a side of jelly when I asked for it. We went back the next day and I ordered the iced coffee, which has ice cubes made out of coffee (brilliant!). In spite of the fact that we were super hot already because of the temps and humidity of tropical FL, we sure enjoyed our stops at Cuban Coffee Queen!!

If you like great coffee from a local place rather than a corporate cookie cutter place, this is for you. A little difficult to find but worth the search. Located by the docks, on the trolley and conch train route, this place is outstanding. They serve a variety of coffee, smoothies, fresh made juice drinks and food. Try the Key Wester - the cuban flat bread is fresh baked and out of this world. I made the trip out here every morning !!

This was a neat little coffee/breakfast stand buried away near the marina in Key West. The iced coffee and bread were pretty good, while the american coffee was average. We were really impressed with the frozen coffee cubes, having more coffee when the ice melted was one of the more awesome experiences I've had.

  • Javier T.

Cuban Coffee Queen! Great place to take a picture to show your friends you were in Key West. Excited about the food I walked away disappointed. I had the pulled pork with white rice and black beans. I am not sure if they forgot the seasoning that day but the food was not your typical island meal filled with flavor! The Cuban cafe con leche ended up in the trash after a couple of sips. Maybe it was just that day....

  • Sam B.

My wife and I stopped here for breakfast because we read good reviews on Yelp about this place. Cuban coffee queen lived up to its name. Some of the best coffee we've ever had, good breakfast food and it's inexpensive. A definite repeat visit for us.

  • Molly L.

I regret only hitting this place for the coffee (4 times in 5 days) as the food smelled, looked and sounded amazing. That being said, the iced cafe con leche was amazing. The ice cubes are made out of coffee so your coffee doesn't get watered down as the ice melts. (Seriously, why hasn't anyone thought of this ingenious idea before??) If you order a vanilla coffee, I'm pretty sure they're adding vanilla extract so you get a nice subtle flavor of vanilla instead of an overly sweet syrup. We almost missed our flight on our last day because we went to get one last coffee and I probably would have been okay with that. The shop is quaint (it's more like a coffee stand) and the staff is very efficient. Best coffee on the island. I'd recommend it to anyone who heads to Key West.

    (5)
  • Cristina B.

I stopped by the Cuban Coffee Queen twice for coffee. The coffee was good, but next time I will drop by and order one of their popular sandwhiches. On both trips, there were huge lines, and even though I didn't get a chance to try a sandwhich, I would say that the line and the smiles on folks' faces speak volume. Please note that this is not a restaurant, its a a food truck located by the pier that serves quick bites.

My wife and I live in Tallahassee, and we traveled to Key West with our teenage children on vacation. We stayed on the island for seven days, and we discovered the Cuban Coffee Queen on our second day. After that, I believe we ate at least one meal from the Cuban Coffee Queen every day. The Cuban food was fantastic in flavor, quantity, and value. The four of us, including a sixteen year old boy, ate dinner for $25.00, and we had leftovers. In addition to the food, the Queen sells a legal version of liquid crack, which is called Bucci. I believe this is called a cafe cubano in other places, but it's quality was superior. Even my son, who does not like coffee, enjoyed this. Unfortunately, Tallahassee does not have such awesome, economical Cuban food, and I could not convince the Queen to deliver it's goods this far north. Oh well, I guess we'll just need to return to the islands.

I stopped here last week to grab a coffee and a sandwich. Well I went back for the three day's I had left ! It was great ! I got the Key Wester with bacon then sausage then bacon again. The cuban Espresso was super strong lol I looked at the 1oz cup and laughed but it did it's job well. If your ever in Key West you should go here at least once then you'll be hooked.

Was in Key West for a wedding and someone had seen a review for them on yelp and their Cuban Sandwich. Now from what I have heard the bread is not true Cuban bread in it is not crusty and flaky but holy moly what an amazing sandwich. Much better food than I probably ate on the entire rest of my trip and cheap to boot. The place is just a little shack with a couple benches to sit on but its worth it.

Great coffee and sandwich, reasonable price with quick and friendly window/counter service (near railroad museum); tourist gift shops nearby!; nice little place for a cup!

I live in Key Largo and visit KW as often as I can. Until the coffee Queen opened I was never able to get great Cuban coffee. Now I can:) Try the Key Wester or the cuban sandwich.

A definite must when you come to Key West. The sandwiches are absolutely amazing! The Cuban Bread was so good. It was the first reasonably priced lunch for a family of four we had in our 5 day vacation in Key West. Cuban Coffee Queen is not a sit down restaurant, but they have several benches that you can sit on and people watch as you eat. You will not be disappointed and will be happy you went there.

  • Courtney P.

Awesome food, terrible service. My boyfriend and I spent the weekend in Key West, and we went to the Cuban Coffee Queen because of the great Yelp reviews. I was expecting it to be an actual store, but it's a little shack-type place with a take-out window. Don't be fooled by my description, though - it's super cute, and has a great location next to the water. The line wasn't too long when we got there, but it took about 10-15 minutes to get our food. I got the egg and cheese sandwich (on buttered Cuban bread) with iced café con leche. The best part of the coffee was that it had coffee cubes instead of ice cubes so that when it melted, the coffee wasn't watered down. My boyfriend got the Key Wester sandwich, which came with plantain chips. We were both impressed with the food and the prices (only $13 for all of it). I will definitely go back; I just hope they hire a more organized cashier by then.

  • R H.

A great place for breakfast or lunch providing you don't need a table and chairs. Coffee is superb, sandwiches tasty and filling all with prices that you can't match in Key West. Couple that with the fact that everything is made to order and I could not help coming back, and back, and back.

    (4)
  • Brenda H.

this place is pretty awesome. the location, the walk up set up, and the menu is pretty big. i got a cafe con leche with soy and 2 sugars and a veggie hummus sando. the veggie sando was pretty big. the hummus was yummy. for 2 coffees and 2 sandwiches, it was about $13.00. you definitely can't go wrong with that!

  • Trixiepop R.

i adored visiting this lovely little hut for cuban coffee a couple times on our vacation. i wished that there was somewhere to sit to eat besides the 2 benches folks wait to grab their to-go orders. their breakfast sandwiches were great. on cuban bread. yum! the coffee was amazing.

SIX stars, if possible! This place is the reason that I have become a contributor to Yelp! We discovered this place in November 2011 by Yelping for a Cuban coffee place near our hotel (the Hyatt). A five minute walk, it was close, so we tried it on the way to breakfast the first morning we were in KW. A couple of sips of their coffee, and we decided to come back every day- and we did, sometimes multiple times! Their Cafe Cubano and Cafe con Leche are out of this world good! A very unassuming but very Key West structure, a guest stands outside to order, pay, and eat or drink. The food is excellent for a breakfast or quick lunch, but the coffee is SO good, you might want to just drink more coffee until you forget about being hungry. The coffee here has changed my preference for coffee ever since and I have been an avid coffee and espresso drinker for many years- now I make Cafe Cubano as they do at the Cuban Coffee Queen every morning at home! The only caveat is that service is on the slow side, but they are preparing the coffee and food per the orders as received, and the results are well worth the short wait. Hey, it's KW, who's in a hurry anyway!?

    (5)
  • George B.

I am not a coffee drinker, but my wife most certainly is. She raved about this coffee! The Cuban Coffee Queen is off the beaten path a bit but is next to a trolley stop on the island. There is some bench seating around the area, but that's about it. Just show up, order coffee, and thoroughly enjoy. Coffee drinkers, mark this spot down!

  • Jenny L.

Food truck that sells drinks and sandwiches, mainly known for their Cuban coffee. Ice coffee with milk (cafe con Leche): sweetened ice coffee with ice cube made of coffee, pretty neat idea! However, flavor is ok, a lil too watery and blend for me (maybe I hit them up on a bad day, no lines so no pressure lol). Food: not sure, didn't get any food here, but I'm sure it's delious based on reviews from other yelpers! Seating: outdoor, self service, 2 benches in the shade :)

    (3)
  • Stephanie K.

The iced cafe con leche is out of this world! We stopped by on a Sunday morning had a long wait for our food. There's not too much of a seating area and not very much shade-- be warned. Must stop by for coffee and a sandwich. You won't be disappointed.

  • Carlie M.

Tasty breakfast. Traditional Cuban breakfast. Yummy coffee too. Generous portions. Skip the plantain chips, go for the chorizo. Not too cheesy, just the right amount. Yummy Cuban bread. A must for visitors, clearly a local favorite.

    (4)
  • Peter T.

Cuban coffee queen gets 5 stars for a variety of reasons. 1) iced coffee has coffee ice cubes which means the coffee never gets melted down. Brilliant! What a concept. The coffee itself with milk and sugar is high quality and made my morning. 2) coffee shots were delicious and well worth the price, with a little sugar and poured in front of you, really good. 3) warm cafe con leche was very good 4) Americans run the place instead of Cubans meaning no attitude given. And the coffee is better than Almost any Cuban place in Miami. Sandwiches - Morning sandwiches are probably in the 3.75 - 4 star rating. Bacon was so so, chorizo was a better option. Fresh bread pressed and good eggs.

The time that I stayed in key west, I was here every morning. Actually, I was here twice a day lol. The Cuban cafe con leche and cordata was amazing. Very robust and strong coffee, similar to espresso. The Cuban bagel was to die for also, which was similar to an everything bagel but on a roll toasted To perfection with cream cheese and honey. Wish they opened a location close to DC!

Definitely the coffee fix needed after a wedding weekend. My hubby and I got married in April and stopping here was a must. We stopped by the day we arrived and our last morning in the keys. The perfect sandwiches, cafe con leche that tastes homemade, and a variety of smoothies that can cure anything! It's a must

The sandwiches here are just absolutely amazing, and so it's no wonder why this tiny shack has stayed around for so long. Going up to it, Cuban Coffee Queen just looks like a coffee shack, but once I checked out the menu, there were a lot of great choices on offer. My cousin and I opted for two sandwiches, after he recommended this place wandering into here for breakfast the previous morning. My Cuban Queen Mix sandwich did not disappoint, and had a huge portion of meat. Really, both our sandwiches were great, and I'd recommend either of them. We didn't opt for any coffee, but the sandwich place seemed truly authentic and the coffee seemed very popular. They also have fruit smoothies on offer, but they seemed a bit high-priced relative to the sandwiches. There's another location closer to Duval Street more inland with the same menu, so I would recommend both.

Their motto is "do stupid things faster," but you should run over here for your cafe Cubano faster! So delicious is an understatement. The coffee is super fresh and strong. The sandwiches are out of this world good and huge! This place delivers and serves Pepsi products, but do yourself a favor and just have the coffee. It is spectacular!

A MUST if you are in Key West. Walk up, order and pay, and wait for the delicious food. Ordered iced coffee, the Havana beans and rice with onions, tomatoes, and pork. It came with a side of bread to make a sandwich, but honestly you don't need the bread. Service was fast, friendly, and we ate next to the place on the benches. Cool art next to the place. It's a hole in the wall but such a great find. It's a short walk from the port, maybe 10 minutes but not crowded, or at least not when we went. The crew is all tatted hipster-ish folk that are there for a day job. I highly recommend this place to stop by since it's less touristy, fresh, fast, and great service. Love the colors and the location is just far away from the crowd but you could miss it if you don't know where you're going. I would come back here again for the food. Great for authentic food, on your romantic getaway with your significant other or just with family. Loved it!

6 out of 5. In one weekend I went three times. Ice coffees have ice cubes made of coffee--genius. Breakfast items are well priced and good. I got the Keywester with egg and sausage. The vegan (sigh) in our group was happy that lunch sandwiches were served at breakfast, and enjoyed a portobello mushroom and hummus sandwich. Happy, happy happy. They also serve smoothies, and one in particular to combat hangovers. LOL.

Number 1: I'm pretty sure it should be mandatory to come down here for a photo with this gorgeous hand painted vintage postcard mural at least once during your trip. That's what drew me to this place initially because I am all about anything vintage. I honestly wish they sold postcards of this lovely mural. I would have bought a boat load to send to all of my pen pals around the world. Number 2: The lady working the cash register had that great southern hospitality despite being quite busy with the crowd of people waiting to receive their order. I love anyone who can stay kind and polite while that busy. She took our order and cash while keeping up the genuine smile. Great customer service! My drink of choice was the mango smoothie. It had some other fruit friends in the mix but I've forgotten which ones by now. It was the perfect mix and quenched my thirst while also cooling me down on a typical hot and humid Key West day. These days are the norm here so it's always good to know of a place that sells drinks to cool you down. This is the place to stop for one of those! Number 3: There is paid parking for the lots around this place and if you are going to stop in here for a drink or snack spend some time wandering this area because it is incredibly photogenic and will lend itself to some unique photo opportunities that shouldn't be missed.

Hole in the wall. Close to lots of stuff. Flavorful; big portions. *not* Cuban (sorry :), more like white rastas working); no plantains or yucca. The meat on beans and rice was good but smothered in black pepper. For me and many foodies black pepper is a cheap shortcut to flavor; according to Eastern medicine its also toxic to the colon. Folks who can't season tend to just drown food in pepper. I almost gave 3 stars due to the hyper abundance of black pepper (I mean, "a lot", really) but relented. No tables no indoors. Id go back and ask them to hold the pepper.

Incredible staff, delicious sandwiches, and the best coffee on planet Earth is the quick snapshot of what you'll find at Cuban Coffee Queen. We had the Cuban Mix ($7) and iced coffee ($2.50) with sugar. This was hands down my favorite meal thus far. The milk in the iced coffee gives it a smooth/velvety texture and evens out the strong flavor of the roast. It was superb. The sandwich was rather large so if you're more of a sampler like me, I'd recommend sharing. There wasn't a ton of seating in the area so this is more of a grab and walk option. If you have a car, its right off of a parking lot so also super easy to pick up and take elsewhere. Enjoy!

Yum! Awesome large breakfast pressed sandwiches with plantain chips. Great coffee. Excellent value. Roosters roaming. Great start to a day exploring Key West :)

If you just want a drink, seems OK. If you want food forget it. 30+ min for toast. I think they sent a jet ski to Cuba to get the bread.

Absolutely amazing, strong iced coffee with iced cubes made of coffee. Had a Havana rice and beans plate. Roasted mojo pork was delicious and tender. The Cuban mix sandwich was also seasoned well and toasted just right. Service was also friendly and fast.

Seriously, the best Cuban mix sandwich and Cuban coffee I have ever had. Fairly inexpensive, and just freaking delicious. They are located near dante's. The good thing is that you can call ahead and just pick up your order. They tend to get pretty busy.

We heard about this local coffee shop, so we decided to stop by on our last day in town. I got an iced caramel coffee & it was SO sweet. I wish I had gotten it with less or no caramel. The ice cubes are coffee cubes, which is so nice since I like to sip on my iced coffee for awhile but hate when it gets watery. Delicious coffee, just beware of the syrup!

The place for strong Cuban coffee and fresh delicious lunch and breakfast sandwiches. More of a stand, most people take their food to go or order it and have it delivered free. I fell in love with the iced coffee with coffee cubes and the Key Wester breakfast sandwich with ham which is big enough to split. I liked it so much I went back every day for the coffee. Sit on a bench or walk a block around the corner to the marina for a nice view. Drop a piece of pan Cubano (bread) and watch the chickens flock, or just beware of the probability if you're a chicken hater! They also serve fresh smoothies and rice and beans with egg for breakfast. The Yelp check in special is not honored. They get a pass on this because the place is so good. The place can get a little crowded and you may have to wait for your order, but it's Key West so relax a little.

This is a tiny little place my friends told me I had to go to for coffee while visiting Key West. Our first morning there we jumped on our bikes and headed over. We tried the iced and hot coffee and we also tried the Key Wester with sausage, egg and cheese on hot pressed Cuban bread for breakfast. It was so good and the Cuban bread that they used was so fresh we had to come back the next day!! The coolest thing they do is delivery!! That's right you can order coffee and they will deliver it to your hotel door fresh and hot or cold!! We did it one night and couldn't believe the quality and service. If you are in Key West you HAVE to stop at the Cuban coffee queen!

Tucked away behind a marina parking lot lays this little breakfast gem. Serving breakfast, lunch and arguably dinner, this tiny walk up restaurant serves a mean punch of Cuban flavor in every meal. I opted for get the "Key Wester" which includes 2 eggs, American cheese, bacon (my choice) and I added tomato, onions and jalapeño (I love the heat!). All of these delicious ingredients are perfectly placed on a authentic Cuban roll and the pressed in the grill. Every sandwich includes a bag of plantain chips and a lollipop (odd but cute). All in all the food was very good and priced slightly above average $14 for 2 sandwiches.

Perfect little coffee shack right by the waterfront. They open early, too, so you can get something before you get on the ferry to the Dry Tortugas. Best cafe con leche I had on my vacation.
